The disembodied tentacle twitched a little longer and then stopped abruptly. Meryidiyth was looking straight up wordlessly at a huge dome of crackling energy that was slowly descending upon them, centred over the Guardian of Forever.

She bit her lip as he back scrambled. She wasn’t sure what she had expected, but that hadn’t been it. A slight giggle escaped her lips despite trying to hold it back. As his demeanor changed and suddenly he was genuinely concerned for her, she nodded and stammered as heat rose on her cheeks, “Yes, Sir.... I’m ok. Really.” She smiled and nodded at him with thanks.

Meryidiyth’s looking up had been caught by several near her. That, in turn, made others look. By the time Karina saw, she frowned and looked up. The dome encompassing them was slowly lowering. Her giggle and smile swiftly disappeared. She rose and moved to stand beside the CMO. Unconsciously, her hand moved to touch his arm in a worried way. “Grey.....” The word was solitary, yet filled with volumes.

What was happening?

Karina
Doctor

Benjamin looked up and his facial expression changed from concern to focus. He looked down at Karina and gave her his most reassuring smile “Come on, there are lives to be saved. Nothing else matters right now” He put his hand on her shoulder and squeezed it gently before turning away and moving on to help the nearest person, spraying the alcohol spray without saying another word.

Dr. Grey - CMO

Meryidiyth shuddered at the sight of the slowly shrinking energy bubble but then her look became more quizzical. The shuddering continued slowly and then she just simply flowed apart into two seperate beings. Meridyth waved at the two, “Two pairs of hands to help” she said with a smile. Her sister smiled as well and seeing them together you could begin to tell that there were subtle differences between them. Merydith picked up a hypo and went to work.

It was simple math: there were too many injured and not enough hands. Worse yet, she had been hit by more of the toxic blood and so she had one of injured who was actually in better shape than some help her douse her injuries so that she in turn could survey the others and return the favour. She not a doctor, nor a nurse, but as a health professional had emergency medical training, though it was still limited, so Janna was simply trying to keep her head above water. However, the psychologist in her knew that everyone was running on adrenaline and fear and that as soon as the chaos died down events would catch up with this crew and they would need every member of their counselling team.

Moving over to the CMO and one of the other doctor’s she tried to put on a neutral expression. Janna was clearly exhausted and the parts of her skin where she had some into contact with the creature’s blood were not fully healed and they were. At least she had stopped burning! “Do you…” Janna tried to swallow but her mouth was dry and she coughed. “Do you have any more blood clotting agents? I know supplies are very limited, and I had some earlier when I was injured in our landing, but I have a form of haemophilia and I got hit by that toxic blood stuff.” She eyed her seeping wounds. “I’m also feeling really lightheaded. I just need a boost so I can go help with more patients,” she said pragmatically.
