: : : Karina was finishing with the young woman when the purple feline leapt down and darted passed them. The klaxons and alarm, as well as the orders to abandon ship, made the doctor frown. “I just ‘got’ here…” she muttered to herself and realized all she owned in her life was still in a couple bags, and cargo containers, still in their packing phase. She hadn’t bothered to unpack in the few days she had been there. Too much had happened. A slight giggled escaped her lips as she murmured, “Well at least they won’t break before they disintegrate.”

Cause if you help someone, it’s probably because they need my help as well.” Her words were not asking for permission, or tenderly broaching the subject. They were an adamant statement of fact that would lead the man to believe he had no say in the matter.

: : The cat appeared at the door way and gave a plaintive meow, it’s purple eyes were direct and unafraid. It seemed to be motioning to them with it’s tail almost as if to say “Hurry up!”.

: “I’m fine, you two go,” Kaylee said, nodding. “I’m going to follow our little friend here.” She didn’t think it was a coincidence that this creature had appeared just after their time traveling friend. Despite their current state of emergency, she felt as though she needed to follow the cat, much as Alice did with the white rabbit. Maybe even down the rabbit hole, so to speak.

The little creature seemed to be particularly gratified that it was being followed and start heading unerringly for the nearest escape pod. Tail twitching in the air as it ran it seemed to be agitated but at the same time calm. There was something deep down in those eyes, a purpose, an implacable fortitude.

“Kaylee what are you doing? We need to leave, just grab the cat…” Konral said before focusing on the cat. Something felt off in his cat as he began to reach his mind out to the cat. Even animals gave off telepathic signals, and he didn’t want to feel surprised again.

Kayee gave Konral a stare. “This cat seemed to want us to follow it. It can’t be a coincidence that it appeared right after our visitor disappeared.” She let out a sigh, realizing that they were having to abandon their home. She entered in her code on the keypad on the bulkhead to open to door to the escape pod. Then she reached down to pick up the cat, or usher it into the open pod, whichever it preferred.

The cat was quite happy to be picked up by Kaylee as they got into the escape pod. It cast a reproachful look at Konral as he reached out to it. His senses weren’t so much being blocked as they were being misdirected. He got the distinct impression that the cat was trying to wink surreptitiously.

Kaylee accessed the control panel within the escape pod and prepped for launch. She set the cat on her lap as she awaited Konral and Karina to get inside the small pod and then she would initiate the launch.
