As they continued their hike, Viyara had remained silent. At first brooding and furious, but as time passed she not only calmed down again, but started to think about everything she and Janna had talked about. About every question Janna had asked. Including that dreaded one at the end that made her snap at the Counsellor. It still made her feel uncomfortable and she still didn’t know why. Though as they neared the cottage she found to her surprise that she conceded that, yes, maybe there was something he knew about her that she didn’t. And that maybe, just maybe there was the possibilities it wasn’t something bad. She still found that hard, almost impossible to believe. And yet a small voice inside her whispered that he wouldn’t spend time with her if she truly was such a horrible person as she thought she was.~Viyara Nazeen
Arriving at the very edge of the village, the clouds had settled in a little more, but it was still bright enough to not feel gloomy. The breeze continued which was nice after ten kilometres, and she was sure that despite how physically fit both her and Nazeen were, a break and a rest would be nice.
The whitewashed cottage was one of the first on they came across with a turquoise blue little picket gate and a matching wooden door. The front path was tiled in stone with boxwood hedges lining the exterior of the gardens, with vines growing across the front of the house. It was lush and green and inviting and the cottage itself had a cozy quaint feeling.
Viyara couldn’t help but smile slightly as she saw the little cottage. It looked cute and cosy. Definitely a plus considering that she had to stay pin the holodeck for a while.
“Come on, let’s go check out our home for the next couple of days,” she said, finally breaking the silence.
“Sure,” Viyara nodded and then followed Janna inside.
Inside, it was not huge by any stretch of the imagination. A sitting room that doubled as an eating area was immediately in front upon entry, with a kitchen off to the right. A hallway to the left led to the two double bedrooms and the one bathroom with a tub and shower. A door to the back gardens was directly in front of them on the other end between the small dining table and the sitting room and you could see the expansive cottage garden that invited exploration beyond the stone terrace through its paths and nooks. There was even a small pond!
Surveying the cottage, Janna planted her hands on her hips and nodded. “Not bad at all,” she said with a grin. “Why don’t you go pick which bedroom you would prefer and come back out.”

As comfortable as the cottage looked, Viyara found herself wishing that there was more space. Sure, she’d have her own bedroom and she could wander off if she wanted to. But other than that there was basically no privacy. Which was probably the whole point, she thought a little grimly. Looking at Janna, she nodded and then headed down the short hallway.
Before even opening any of the doors, Viyara stopped and pondered. She didn’t actually care which room she’d take, but since Janna wanted her to pick, she thought that the one facing the garden behind the house would be nice. Opening the door to that room, she peered inside and sight softly. The view was beautiful, just as she had expected. But the interior design was … not exactly what she’d pick. Too much pink and white and too many cute little flowers.
After a moments hesitation during which she pondered if she should have a look at the other room after all, Viyara asked, “Computer, if I’m allowed to make changes to this room, can you replace the sheets with a set in a warm, dark purple with some black ornaments on them or something. Make the curtains dark purple as well. Replace the painting of the flowers with the photograph of the butterfly nebula, but keep the one of the stormy ocean. And can you add a fountain pen with black ink and an extra fine nip to the desk?”
