Janna stepped closer, bending forward and bracing her arms much like Viyara was. “I know. It’s a lot to take in, and there’s no requirement for you to process this all in this moment. But we’re taking big and difficult steps here, and I know you are up to the challenge.” Janna’s voice shifted, becoming more emphatic and determined. “You’re a fighter, Viyara. Fight the fear, and the doubt and the voice in your head that tells you sit down and shut up and not make a fuss. Make a fuss! This is your battle, but you’re not alone. I’ve got your back.”

It felt like an eternity to her when in reality it was only a few moments later that Viyara had managed to regain some semblance of control over herself. The fear and discomfort weren’t gone, but she no longer felt like she was at the very edge of a panic attack when she straightened up again. Fixing Janna with her heterochromatic eyes, the hint of a smile even tugged at the corners of her lips. “Thank you,” she said softly.

Janna just gave a single nod. It was what she was here for.

Taking a step backwards, Janna extended a hand. “What do you say? It’s your trail. Are you ready to take the lead?”

Taking Janna’s hand, Viyara nodded. “Yeah, I think so. But before we start the hike towards Ballintoy, we should go down to the Giant’s Causeway. It’s a really interesting natural rock formation and there is some folktale about a giant who build a bridge all the way over to Scotland,” she said as she led the way down a narrow path towards the edge of the cliff.

Janna had gripped Viyara’s hand and gave a single shake, as if they had made a deal( which they had in many way) and let it go falling in step as Nazeen took the next important steps on her path.

“Huh. I do love a good folk story. We have a few from Vega, but mostly it’s colonist who first settled and would get creeped out by being on their own in a strange place. Nothing quite so mythical,” Kingston said.

Once there Viyara nodded towards the steep, staircase that went all the way from the top of the cliff to the Causeway. “Or would you rather we stay up here? It takes some time to get down and then up again and if I remember correctly the wooden steps are a bit slippery at times.” While they couldn’t make out the exact details from the top of the cliff, the rock formation was still visible enough.

“This is your journey, so it’s your decision. I’ll follow where you lead me… I can keep up,, and I’m always up for pausing to enjoy the view. Go as you will,” Janna said with a grin.
