Daggum smiled and reached for the blanket and wrapped her up in it and then pulled her close to him. “V… I think it’s time you upack and settle in. And I don’t mean your stuff. I mean yourself. And when I say settle in, I’m not talking about the ship or anything… I mean life. You can have a good one… if you let yourself. But I really do hope you will think about talking to someone other than me. Don’t get me wrong… I enjoy our talks very much. But I think you may need some guidance… just a nudge here and there that I don’t know how to give. Does that make sense?”
Daggum
Nestling close to Daggum, her body relaxed and she began to feel a little calmer. For several moments she was silent as she let his words sink in and then thought about them. Looking up at him, Viyara finally said, “It does make sense and I’m also afraid of talking with someone else. You really get me and even though it sometimes scares me that you can read me like my book, it also makes me feel safe. I’m afraid that another person won’t understand me and of what might happen when I talk to someone else.”

“Another person may not understand you… at first. But you will get there. You did with me, so you can with someone else. But its something you should at least try. I don’t think you will be truly happy until you do… and that is something you deserve, V. Being happy.”
Daggum
Viyara nodded a little as she shifted her position so that her legs were now draped over Daggum’s thighs and face was nestled against his shoulder and chest. “I always thought that I have been happy, but maybe you’re right.” With her face somewhat hidden, she whispered, “Thank you Daggum. For everything. I love you.” As the last words left her lips, she froze and even held her breath. That was not what she had meant to say! She had meant to tell him that she really like him and that he was a good friend. Too much taken by surprise by her own words, Viyara just sat there in silence while her face turned a deep shade of red again.

There was a long pause from Hammor and then he simply said “Well… that’s certainly a step into the whole ‘unpacking’ thing, I guess.” and he gave her a tight squeeze. “Don’t be embarrassed, V. I know you didn’t mean to say that… but I also know you meant it. And that last part means a lot to me.” and he pushed her back so he could look at her. “V… you know where I am… where my heart is. And I can’t say that I am not really confused right now, because I am. What you and I have is something amazing, and I don’t want that to end… but I do love someone else. And I have since I first met her. And while I know a lot of people talk about Orions as… well… you know, I’m sure… that isn’t necessarily me. I’ve never loved more than one person at time. And I don’t think it would be fair to you for me to try… no matter how much I want to. Does that make sense?”
Daggum
Viyara nodded, unable to say anything because of the lump that had formed in her throat. At the same she was trying to fight back the tears she felt welling up in her eyes and that made lower lip tremble ever so slightly. The last thing she wanted was for Daggum to feel bad or guilty even though his answer hurt. She was grateful that he was honest with her and she hoped that her declaration and his reply wouldn’t change things between them; at least not in a way that things would become awkward between them. She’d hate to loose a friend because she couldn’t keep her mouth shut.
