Daggum nodded slowly and then chuckled. “Well… how about we do this. First, you finish your dinner. Second, we go to the bedroom and you show me what you are hiding under that robe.” and grinned and leaned in and kissed the side of her neck. “Third. You and the XO do your thing on the ship, you and I will do our thing here. If things work out in such a way that you and I can spend time together without ruffling feathers on the Athena or having to sneak around behind someone’s back, great. If not; we can still hang out and grab a bite, no strings or ‘closeness’ issues. Two friends is all. Like I said… I know what you want and I’m fine with it. What happens between you and her is none of my business, and I’m not gonna push myself somewhere feelings could get… well… messy. So you have all the time you need to work out where you and her stand. I’ll be around.” and he smiled softly at her.

Holding her plate in one hand, Viyara Daggum a slightly awkward, one armed hug. “Thank you for being so understanding and relaxed.”

“Of course, we are married… so that should take precedence, right?” and he laughed loudly.

Daggum

“Oh, it definitely does,” Viyara giggled before eating another bite of her steak. After swallowing she continued, “If you help me with this, you’ll find out sooner what I’m hiding.” She wiggled her eyebrows a little and grinned mischievously at Daggum as she pointed with her fork at her plate.

With a dazzling display of speed and unabashed motivation to complete the meal; Daggum’s hand flew to plate, seized the steak and shoved it in his mouth. He chewed less than ten times and swallowed before looking at her and saying. “Ok! Done! Let’s go!” and he jumped to his feet and scooped her off the couch and into his arms; sending plates flying and he turned towards the bedroom. In a few long strides he was at the door.

Viyara nearly chocked on a bit of potato as Daggum basically swallowing the rest of the steak whole made her laugh. As he scooped her up, she laughed even harder and clung to him. But thankfully she quickly got a grip on herself again before she ended up with hiccups.

“I do love surprises.” he said as he kissed her and moved them through the door to the desired venue for the unveiling.

“I’m glad,” Viyara whispered with her lips on his. “For I have a few in store for you.” The room was a lot dimmer than it had been earlier, but Daggum would still be able to make out a the shapes of a few things lying on the bed. Apparently the surprise was not limited to what she was wearing under the dressing gown.
