Daggum thought for a moment and then said “I am assuming you mean the room and stuff, present company not included.” and he chuckled. “It’s actually kind of an unofficial facet of my job. I have to know how to get things from people that don’t want to give them up, or when those things have been claimed by someone else. Logistics and supply is a lot more cutthroat than you would guess.” and he took a bite and chewed and then swallowed. “But as far as doing it for something like this?” and he waved his fork at the room in general. “No, never. I honestly just think we were in the right place at the right time, and things just kind of fell into place as we went.”

Daggum

Viyara nodded here and there as she listened closely to Daggum. “To be honest, I never thought much about what your position all entails and that it’s not always as easy as it looks to most of us to get all the supplies needed,” Viyara admitted between two bites. Gesturing at the room as well, she continued, “I’m generally good at getting what I want, or getting away with things, but I never would have thought something like this was possible. I’m still amazed that they believed everything.” She laughed lightly as she popped some salad into her mouth.

Daggum smiled and winked. “People believe what they want to believe. The trick is figuring out what that is. Here we gave them romance… with a dash of drama. People eat that up.” and he ate another bite and looked at her, his emerald eyes fixed onto her.

“Promise me something, V… if you want anything from me… you’ll ask? You don’t have to try and game me… ok?”

“You aren’t my superior officer. Well, you are, but not directly. Anyway, you aren’t one of the people responsible for clearing me for duty and I dare say we are long past me trying to avoid any personal questions from you. And we are long past the point of flirting,” Viyara laughed softly and leaned against Daggum. “I know how to use my looks and charm to get out of situations that make me uncomfortable or to draw someone’s attention towards me, but that’s all. I don’t like games where people get hurt in the end. So yes, I’ll promise to ask you if there is something I want.”

Daggum nodded once and finished off his plate. As he set the plate aside, he leaned back and looked at her and said “I promise the same. And I also promise that if you ever need help… whatever that is… you can call me. I may not be able to fix it, but I will sure as hell give it a shot. Deal?” and he held a big green hand towards her and smiled.

“Deal,” Viyara smiled and reached for his hand, gripping it firmly. “It’s good to know whom to call next time I blow up a lab.” She gave him a wink as she ate a last spoonful of chowder. She hadn’t even started with the steak and salad yet. “Sorry for being a slow eater,” she grimaced as she placed the bowl on the table and then reached for the plate with the steak, potato and salad.

Daggum chuckled and said “Don’t worry about it. You can make it up to me later.” and he winked. He then leaned back and stretched out his arms across the back of the couch and laid his head back.

“So I guess the next thing to talk about while you eat is what we do back on the ship?” and he turned his head to look at her. “I’m not asking for anything serious, mind you. But I would certainly be interested in more time with you.” and his eyes drifted down from her face slightly and he grinned when he looked back up at her. “With or without clothes. Your call.” and he laughed slightly.
