Juvri nodded, pulling away from Viyara. “Sorry to make things so… sad,” She said. There were two bowls in front of them, full of the salad Juvri had summoned. There were also forks to eat it with. She wiped her eyes with her finger, and then took a bite of the salad.

“Don’t apologise,” Viyara said firmly, but with a soft smile on her face as she reached for her bowl and picked it up. “Being able to show yourself and how you are truly feeling … that takes a lot of strength. Never forget that,” she continued emphatically. She almost laughed at herself, but managed to completely stifle it and instead started to dig into her salad. It was funny how easy it felt to give those kind advice. Advice she knew was true and healthy. And yet at the same time finding herself utterly incapable to follow it herself. To even consider following it herself.

Juvri shrugged awkwardly. She knew Viyara was right, but whenever she did, she felt awkward and wrong. “So… Want to talk about something a little more cheery?” she asked, and then she chuckled, taking another bite of her salad. She had noticed Viyara had shared next to nothing about herself. A button Juvri wouldn’t push if she could help it.

“Sure!” Viyara grinned and then added, “What would you like to talk about?” With her head tilted a little to the side, she looked at Juvri for moment and drank a sip of water before eating more of the salad. “This is really good, by the way,” she commented, pointing with her fork at the bowl.

“What else do you like to do? Besides rock climb,” Juvri asked. Her salad was half gone by then, her water already gone. “Thanks. It’s honestly how we used up excess we couldn’t store but we’d cook it up and season it nice and it turns out pretty good.”

“Well, I’m a scientist all the way through and I love doing all sorts of experiments,” Viyara laughed. “Otherwise I mostly enjoy physical things. Some casual fun,” she winked and grinned mischievously. “Playing Parrises squares or practising some martial arts and boxing.” With her cheeks turning suddenly a little pink, she added, “and, uhm, I dance.”

“Martial arts, huh? Maybe you could teach me sometime,” she said, choosing to pick one of Viyara’s less mischievous hobbies to talk about. “Ooh, and you dance? That’s nice! It’s supposed to help with balance,” she said excitedly. “I tried dance but we didn’t have a class for it or anything so I kinda taught myself.”
