He smiled. “Don’t be embarrassed. You moved like a dancer when you were in the gym, is all. For me? I listen to music, I like to cook a bit, and I have some holodeck programs I use to unwind… and a few I use to vent frustration. Sometimes the gym doesn’t cut it and you really need to let someone have it, you know?” and he winked at her.

Hammor

“I hear you,” Viyara laughed softly. “When you’re in the holodeck: safeties on or off?” she asked almost off-hand if it wasn’t for the gleam of mischievousness in her eyes. She then popped another ravioli into her mouth and waited curiously for his reply.

Hammor regarded her for a moment and then said “On, but low. After all, turning off the safeties completely is a pretty serious violation… which you and I both know we would never do… right?” and he gave her a small grin.

Hammor

“Of course,” Viyara nodded. And it wasn’t even a lie. Not really anyway. For she knew that it was a violation of regulations. She just did it anyway. She sometimes needed the rush of adrenaline and the sense of danger, sometimes even the feeling of pain to feel fully alive. And with the safeties on she just didn’t have that. And where was the point it in then? Tilting her head slightly to the side, she added, “I’ve never really understood that, though. There are no safeties in real life either. So where is the problem in turning them off on the holodeck?”
