It was another crew member that finally got Isaac to Deck 14 and the doors he, probably, should be visiting. He wasn’t a member of the Athena and stood out amongst the more colorful crew in his blacks. Still, it wasn’t altogether an unfamiliar situation and Isaac wasn’t discomforted, though he could do without the space nausea. His body would adjust, or so he’d been told.

He took his best guess towards protocol and pressed the chime to the doors.

Konral paused as he looked up. It was a bit late, he had just gotten back from drills and wondered who might be at the door. “Enter.” he said as he waited to find who was coming in, sensing out to learn more before the door opened up.

Isaac, as a whole, was awake in the sense of a being taking in an entirely new experience, yet settled. Novel situations themselves were a familiarity. An undercurrent of concern diffused levelly in the background of it all, problems elsewhere and for another time.

The man who stepped through the doorway was tall, lean in a way that indicated a lifetime of practical athleticism. His dark eyes were sharp and had taken in the room and Vander both within the first moment, automatic and natural. He stopped just inside. “Isaac West,” he introduced, body as relaxed as his mind seemed to be. “It has been brought up that I should make your acquaintance.”
