The boy started as the mystery woman appeared. He brought a hand to the right hand side of his chest and clutched at it. ”Geez, footsteps much?” he asked her and then frowned. ”Im just…looking.” he added lamely. Now that he had encountered someone he could feel a small thrill of danger, it was a fine line to dance. ”Im fine thanks..” he added in the gruff sort of leave me alone way teens could muster.

“Hmmm, way more interesting things elsewhere,” Ghubari mused. “But that’s just me. What do you think would be interesting? it’s a really big ship after all.” She wasn’t entirely sure how to handle what appeared to be an unannounced guest on the ship. Though it was possible (give there were families aboard) that the young man belonged here, her entire read on him told her otherwise.

Cai shrugged, scowling. ”Engineering would be kool.” he said out loud again attempt g to shuffle off. He gavehe woman a sidelong look as he tried to work out who she was and if he was in trouble yet. He could runoff course but that would certainly draw suspicion and likely security to him.

She nodded. “Engineering is very interesting. They don’t call it the heart of the ship without good reason.” She grinned at him and turned around a corner, her body position all but forcing him to follow her.

“Well then, let’s go. We could take the jefferies tubes but thirty-five decks is a bit much. Way faster in a lift…” she remarked as they moved closer to a turbolift.

The boy had no choice. He followed her to the lift and entered. A moment of silence as they rode and he found himself glancing at her every few seconds. The sort of glance of someone waiting for their goose to be cooked. Finally he said,“You know I’m not supposed to be here don’t you?” in a defeated sort of resigned way. He really did want to see the engines.
