Marishka nodded and slid the drinks over.

“You know, it seems to me, being a counselor and being a bar tender have a few things in common. Like always being on duty. You really do need to make time for yourself. In the end you’ll just be helping everybody else, don’t you think? As for your tall new friend, tell him I said welcome to the Parthenon. Perhaps I’ll stop by your table and say hi myself.”

“Oh, don’t worry, apparently us counselling staff hav backup on the way, so things should get better, but thank you for your concern,” Janna said sincerely. “And I’ll pass along your message.” With a small bow of her head, the counsellor moved off.

Winding her way through the tables, Janna easily found Daggum. “A daiquiri for you, Sir, and another wine for me,” she said setting the drinks down and taking a seat.

Folding her arms on the table and gazing at him, Janna was quiet for a moment. “Our hostess, Marishka says Welcome to The Parthenon. It’s the name for this lounge.”

A not-so-well-concealed and dismissive snort escaped Daggum’s nostrils and his eyes involuntarily locked on Marishka for a moment and then went back to Janna and a sincere smile appeared. “Interesting name… glad to see the ship sticking with a theme.” and he chuckled. Sliding the drink closer to him he said “Many thanks to you, as well. Shall we have a toast?” and he lifted his glass and said “To new friends and new futures.”

Janna lifted her glass and gently clinked it against his. “To new friends,” she said warmly. There was definitely a story there, but she wasn’t on duty nor his therapist and so it was none of her business unless he wanted it to be. “So… what were you thinking for food? I had a late lunch at my desk but I could definitely eat something right now.”
