“Chief”, Dan said after wracking his brain. “That sounds like a Horta name. The Horta are extremely long living. Some are as old as rocks from what I’ve heard.”Ensign Dan Jones (Scientist)

Liam’s eyes widened in alarm.
“Jones, I think our Q and A session is currently being cut short,” Liam stated after R’han confirmed his suspicions.
In the back of his mind, he wasn’t eager to experience a test to see if the creature’s fire resistance extended to his whole body. It was better to be safe rather than sorry.
He wasn’t quite sure of the reason, but there was little he could do now. His eyes flipped about the area to locate some tunnel, cavern, or makeshift shelf in the ruins around them. This way the fire wouldn’t promptly turn them into cinders. When something suitable popped out, he intended to grip Jones by the arm then tug him into it first. Unless Jones was the quicker of the pair. It was Liam’s duty as the current senior officer to ensure those under him were safe first.
His eyes immediately scanned the ruins to seek some sort of makeshift shelter for those who needed it.
“We’ll talk more when we get somewhere safer.”
–CSO, Liam J. Madison, Sci
A svelte voice called out from the tunnel Ryxzyth had delved into the earth earlier, “Quick, in here”. The golden eyes of S’Raal beckoned along with an insistent paw. T’Pon was close behind him and her eyes were wide from the danger.

Liam looked toward the sound’s source. A sense of familiarity washed over the CSO and he tapped Jone’s arm, gesturing for the officer to go first. As they followed the pair, all Liam’s questions stood behind his firmly clenched teeth. With a firestorm bearing down on them, now seemed to be the worst time to satisfy his curiosity.
Once inside what appeared to be safety, Liam loosen his jaw to speak, “You have perfect timing. This isn’t a coincidence you two happen to be in the right place, at the right time Am I correct?”
–CSO, Liam J. Madison, Sci
Dan appreciated his CSO pointing out a safe place to weather the fire storm. Watching the two officers Dan wondered if this was a coincidence as well.
Ensign Dan Jones (Scientist)
“Damn straight it’s no coincidence” S’Raal said with uncharacteristic heat, “Rxzyth sent us, she said something about her brother needing help”. S’Raal ducked back inside the Horta tunnel, yelling out as he ran “Let’s hustle”.

The pod could be seen coming like an avenging angel across the battle field. One of the beings was well ahead of it and making straight for the flickering portal of the Guardian of Forever. It’s trajectory spelled the doom of the Athena, present, past and future as it leapt into the air and soared to dive through into the past…
Gamemaster Conspiracy Theorist (GMT)
The first thing to appear was a hand coming from the other side of the Portal, it held a long barreled disruptor, which flashed a single blast into the leaping creature. Following the arm came the 2 meter form of a being wrapped in dark silks hooded and appearing to flow from the surface of the portal. From within the hood were two bright blue glowing eyes. It moved an eerie nearly perfect grace.
“You might want to follow the Good Doctors Gentlemen, this is going to be close.” The being said looking towards S’Raal. The voice was very familiar, but not immediately placeable.
The other hand lifted a second disrupter as the hooded head swiveled to look for other threats.
“Sorry Father, I cannot be neutral this time” It appeared the being stated to the Guardian itself.
