Séan’s eyes brightened a bit. “Betazed and a wedding huh? Will it just be a party or will you be doing a traditional Betazed ceremony? Will you be inviting any of the crew to attend?” He smiled at the idea of an event to bring a bit of joy to the ship.

Koraia shook her head. “It’ll just be Konral and I going. The crew was a part of the whole wedding here on the ship, and I’m not interested in doing a second ceremony. But I’ve agreed to let my in-laws throw a reception. And given who my husband’s family is an dhow well connected, I’ve already resigned myself to the fact that it’ll be a rather large party,” she said with some amusement despite the fact that she would prefer something much quieter.

“It does mean myself and the Chief of Security will be off the ship for a time, but the Athena is docked for awhile, so it’ll be a good settling n period of for the new crew, including my new first officer. Keep an eye out for her, will you?” Ghubari asked lightly.

Séan nodded easily at the request. “Of course. I imagine we’re all going to be busy but I’ll make sure to check in with her and see that things are going well. When does your vacation start? Not that I want to dampen the mood but we need to have the sit down before you go.”

CNS Iven

He was persistent for sure. She couldn’t blame him and Ghubari also saw it as being to his credit actually. “End of the week. I have a few days, so schedule something before the rest of my schedule gets filled up with things I have no control over. Just not tomorrow. I have… a lengthly meeting with Fleet HQ. Probably because they are losing their minds over my preliminary report,” she said with a grin.

“I’ll get settled in and see how my schedule falls into place tomorrow then get you scheduled in.” Séan replied with a nod. “Good luck with that fleet meeting. I’m glad I don’t need to report higher than you.” He joked with a grin of his own.

“The years of experience and extra pips do have their ups and downs,” she quipped.

Thinking that perhaps they covered everything Ghubari needed but he wanted to check. “Will that be all Captain?”

“For now…” Koraia said lightly. “Thank you for indulging me and meeting today. I suspect you’re already starting to see why it was necessary.”

Séan uncrossed his leg and stood from the seat. “You’re most welcome and I don’t mind at all. I was hoping to dive right in to my work and this certainly helps me figure out how I need to prioritize the needs of the crew. I’ll contact the Ogawa in the morning and see what I can swing with their department. I wish you a wonderful evening and I look forward to sitting down and talking with you in a few days.”

With a nod Séan turned and left. While he wanted to go back to his quarters and fall into bed, he felt the importance of getting himself ready for the following day and instead went to the Counselling Suites which incidentally were near his quarters anyway.
