“So you need a boarding eval?” the receptionist asked gesturing to the blond lieutenant. “Dr. Kingston is available.”

Janna chuckled. “I think it’s more than that,” she said with a gleam in her pale green eyes. “I’m guessing he’s our new boss.” She stuck out her hand. “Janna Kingston. And this lovely woman of superior organizational skills is Cherry.”

Janna held up a hand to the side of her mouth as if to tell Iven a secret. “She’s the only way we keep this crew in and out in an orderly fashion. Otherwise it’s like herding cats.” Cherry giggled.

“I’ve been unmasked so easily.” Séan said with feigned disappointment but then grinned as he took Janna’s hand for a firm handshake and met her green eyes with his own green eyes. “Pleasure to meet Janna. I’m Séan.” He turned his smile to Cherry. “And good to meet you Cherry. I’m always in awe of those who can coordinate the disorganized patients. Thank you already for your efforts.”

Cherry bowed her head in acceptance of his praise.

For her part Janna seemed amused. “Well, not many people start by having meeting with the captain. Our indomitable leader is a rather busy woman. You have to have serious enough business to get to talk to her so”-she shrugged-“it was a good guess.”

He released his hand from Janna’s and tilted his head slightly. “Would you mind giving me a tour? Then after it would be great if we could sit down to talk.”

Turning at her hips, Janna gestured braodly to the space. “And here we have not one, not two, but six offices! Behold their coloured doors. And you’ve seen this lovely reception desk. Behind you, our bedraggled patients await their next session!” Was Janna being cheeky? Most definitely. But it was the kind of day that called for humour. “And that’s the tour,” she said with a chuckle.
