Cara heard the announcement from the Captain to abandon ship as she was working on updating reports. Her heart lept into her chest. With the direction of Dr. Grey she grabbed her pad with with all the files downloaded she looked around and took a deep breath the keep herself calm.
“Come on grab what equipment you can and calmly follow me,” Cara said to the nurses on duty at her station and followed the other doctors out to the escape pods. She helped make a corner for the needed medical equipment, hyposrpys, bandages, and swallowed hard. She never imagined having to use the training at the academy so soon. Cara got in the escape pod and waited for others to join them as she took care of a patient who had been turned in engineering.

Janna entered with her rather traumatized patient and hoped she could manage the situation. Luckily, she was with doctors and they could sedate the man if necessary.

Kingston listened to the announcement and her head tilted slightly out of curiosity as she processed the captain’s words, and her tone. Hmmm, Interesting. She really didn’t know Koraia yet, but somehow something felt different from what she expected. There wasn’t anything bad there, just something she was curious to figure out later. When they weren’t fleeing their ship.

Looking around, she tried not to feel nervous about the inevitable impact, but she knew the risk here. “Is it too late to tell you that I’ve got haemophilia?” Janna asked in a joking manner.

Cara smiled and let the calming voice of their captian wash over her and settle her nerves. She ran the dermal regenrator over her patient’s arm wanting set an example like their Captain who was giving them strength. Cara looked at the scared young man who was in pain.
“See, everything is going to be fine. We”ll all be together and take care of each other until help arrives,” Cara told the engineer ensign only nodded with wide eyes. There were sounds of husseling we’re heard and then the lights dimmed. Cara gripped the seat taking a breath. She looked around and did a quick head count to see who was still missing.

[Fixing the split- Linds]

Cara had been so focused on her patient she hadn’t even realized someone had been talking to her. Someone who was just as scared as she was and in need of comfort. She looked at the other woman and gave her as calm of a smile as she could.
“I think now is the perfect time to tell a doctor that,” Cara replied aloowing a bit of humor in her tone. It relaxed her a bit having others to look after. It had always helped her to remain calm when she had to take care of others. “I could give you a preventative medicine to help I think I brought it my main med pack unless you’re already taking something for it,” Cara said her medical training kicking in. All there was to do now was take care of each other and Cara was prettys sure this crew was good at that.

“I’m not too worried about it,” the counsellor replied. “I’m on regular injections, but larger impacts can create more serious problems if I’m badly injured.” Kingston tried not to think about how S’Raal had had to cauterize her wounds while she was still conscious and lying in her office not all that long ago.

“I’m Cara one of the new doctors, I don’t think we’ve met,” Cara said holding out her hand for the other woman.

She shook Cara’s hand with a warm smile. “Janna Kingston, Assistant Counsellor. It’s nice to meet you, though I think we’d all prefer it under different circumstances,” she said with the tiniest hint of a laugh.

Cara shook the woman’s hand warmly, “Nice to meet you, and let’s hope the conditions only get better from here,” Cara replied her tone steady, and she thought a counselor was just what they were going to need after all this. “We’d better check each other’s safetly buckles to make sure we’re in properly,” she said and then tighened Janna’s straps a little so she wouldn’t be josteled around. “So, I’ll bet being a couselor after this ordeal is going to keep your plently busy,” Cara added with slight amusment in her eyes.

Just moments before the scheduled exit was taking place Ben entered his Designated Escape pod. In his hand was the discoloured potted plant without the plant itself. instead, it was filled with several vials of medicine in secured containers. Hanging around his shoulders was his MedPack. He Looked out and when satisfied that every one of his staff had entered their respected pods he went inside and sat down. He was breathing heavily as he looked over the small group “So, everyone ready?” He tried his best to give them a reassuring smile. He put the pot on the ground and pressed a single button on the side and slight hum started as it attached itself to the hull and the vials moved slightly in place towards the bottom of the pot. “Heck of a first mission, don’t you think” He looked over to Daniels with the same smile.

Cara breathed a sigh of relief when Dr. Grey came into the escape pod. She had been worried about the man ever since he had shooed her out of sickbay but had remained behind himself. She made sure her own belts were all buckled and then nodded to her CMO as he heart pounded in her chest.
“As ready as we’re going to be. I’ve been making sure everyone has been strapped in and all those who needed medications before we left sickbay has been taken care of,” Cara repliled and then looked at the planter. It was a big reminder to her what they were leaving behind.
“I’m glad you were able to save the planter sir,” she said with a grin as she lifted up the violin that had been strapped to her back. It had been her mothers and then only thing from her family she had left.
” What happens now,” Cara asked in a smaller voice than she had hoped, after all there is only so much you can do to prepare for something like abandoning a ship and her first real home.

Ben moved towards the pilot’s seat and strapped himself in “The pot’s a convenient storage for Extra medicine, Ensign” He said as he started the launch sequence “We go to the planet and meet up with everyone” He looked back “Everyone hold on, Launching in Three, Two, One!” He engaged the release mechanism and launched the Escape pod. He was impressed with how calmly the crew was acting, especially the young Doctor. Despite being absolutely terrified he didn’t have the luxury of showing it.
