She chuckled. “I’m holding back. I’m trying to remember that the bag did nothing wrong. Restraint is often advised but there are times when you just have to let go. Unfortunately when I do I risk breaking the damn thing and the Chief of Security always gives me a hard time when I do that,” she added with a lopsided smirk.
“You’re new here,” she stated. It was impossible for her to know every face of the one thousand crew that could be on her ship at every given time, but she could pick our a newbie in a heartbeat.

“I am.” Séan answered back. He drew his routine to an end and walked towards the woman. It wouldn’t do to have a conversation at a distance and he wanted to be friendly and polite with the crew that met. He stopped well outside of her personal space but close enough that they wouldn’t have to speak loudly to hear each other.
“I just transferred aboard a few hours ago. After the long shuttle ride I needed to stretch and get the kinks out before I did my check-ins. After a good sweat and a long shower, I was planning to go to medical and get my physical out of the way.” He smiled easily. “I don’t mind the good doctors but the less I need to be in Sickbay the better.”

“Come now, they’re hard working people. Don’t make it harder on them than necessary,” she said, resting dark hands on the kick bag and leaning on in and towards him. “And this is coming from a woman who is one of their worst patients,” she said with a wink. This never got old. Most crew immediately recognized her, but she had to admit that without the pips and with her sometimes easier personal demeanour, she could catch someone unawares. Still, it was always a bit of fun. Not as fun as Antin was, but then again no one had been like Antin and likely no one ever would.
Narrowing her eyes more in deep curiosity, the Half-Napean studied him, her pale amber eyes all but dissecting him. “Sciences… no… you’re health sciences. Am I close?”

Séan blinked a moment as his green eyes grew inquisitive as well and studied the women before him in closer detail. “Close.” He said but didn’t immediate divulge anything more. “And you’re in a Command position, though obviously not in Security. Though you have been in security before considering your martial prowess. Executive Officer then?” He mused. That could fit considering how easily she shrugged off the Chief of Security’s ‘hard time’. It was likely nothing more than grumbling with no further weight behind it, this ‘hard time’.

They were both too close to their respective answers for this to go on much longer, but she was still highly amused. “Correct on one account,” she said, not clarifying. She figured it would be more obvious which of his answers was the correct one. She was sure Mshuri would give her a hard time for playing unecessary games, but then again she hadn’t exactly done any consulting with her spiritual guide in awhile. Quite on purpose too. She wasn’t sure she felt like the creatures unique method of enlightenment. Nah. Right now she was riding the high of survival. It was like being high on a drug, and considering she used a hallucinatory substance in her meditations, she was rather familiar with the feeling.
Stepping away, the playful grin remained. “Wow, those were days. I had braids down to here-“she tapped just above her hipbone-“when I was an XO.” And with that she spun on her tow and began to walk away.

Séan blinked again and grinned to himself as he followed behind the woman. He inferred from the little game they had just now, the way that she established dominance but didn’t end the conversation directly, that their interaction wasn’t over. This was alright with him, whatever she needed for this interaction to be at her pace. He was curious anyway, about where they were going and where her seeming whimsy would lead them.
“Captain.” He started, knowing that Ghubari was a Fleet Captain but knowing that the full rank was rarely used in conversation. Besides, she’d likely correct him if she wanted the full rank used and that would provide him with some more details about her. “I am your new head Counsellor. I was planning to visit you a little later today or maybe even tomorrow to report.”
