Stark had dreamed of Skotos again. In the dream he had held the Sentient Sword in his hands and realised how much he had missed the connection and sense of purpose that Skotos had given him. He rose from his nest hidden in the Jeffries Tube network and decide he’d go and see if S’Raal and T’Pon had also had similar dreams.

The instant he was ushered into S’Raal and T’Pon’s quarters he knew he hadn’t been alone in his dream. S’Raal was sitting cupping his head in his paws and T’Pon had one hand on his shoulder and the other on her infant child who was sleeping peacefully.

“I see at least one of us isn’t keen to go down this road again”. Starks’s eyes were solemn.

S’Raal looked up in anguish, “It’s easy for you, you came out of it a hero, I was a homicidal mass murderer”.

T’Pon shrugged at Stark, “Nothing I say can shake him out of it”.

S’Raal Cran Moonshadow

Stark didn’t hesitate, claws drawn he hooked them into S’Raal’s shoulders and spun him around. S’Raal leapt to his feet and in the depths of his eyes they went blood red for a second and then faded.

Stark snarled at him, “See, you can control it. If we’ve been called again we don’t have time for you to mope over the definition of heroism and murderous intent.

S’Raal face morphed from anger to sorrow and back again. T’Pon stood, ready to intervene if things got physical. In the end, S’Raal’s shoulders slumped as he staunched the flow of blood from the gash he’d been given.

“Better,” Stark said his eyes blazing. “You killed in a time of great need, you weren’t a doctor that day and if it happens again trust that it will also be in a time of great need”.
