Jean was finally on the ship. This will be his first time serving as an XO since his promotion and studies at Command College were done. He was eager to learn but not to forget his place since he was new not only to the ship but to the rank. He was always a laid back kind of guy but this position meant that he can’t do that too much. He walked into sickbay and with a heavy French accent asked, “Can I see a doctor please? I have just arrived and need my initial evaluation done.”Commander Jean Francios Millet, XO
The small medical bay was empty aside from a tall woman with great red hair. She was wearing a white coat and a Starfleet uniform under, her pips indicated a rank of Lieutenant. She turned to face the new first officer and smiled a crooked smile, her expression seemed vaguely absentminded as if she was barely registering him “Oh aye that’d be me” Her accent was a soft educated Edinburgian Scottish “Doctor Rachel Grey” She stepped towards him, a rather quick stride. When she reached him he could see that she was almost ten centimeters taller than him “Commander..?”
Dr. Grey - CMO
OOC: Sorry I didn’t see this earlier and you would not be wearing Pips in this timeline. It will be on your chest as far as rank goes.
“Ah!” He shook her hand. “I am Commander Jean-Francois Millet. The new XO. I am pleased to meet you Doctor Grey. Forgive me for saying, but your hair is of absolute beauty! I canals tell from your accent that you and I are not that far apart from each other as far as where we lived shows. Now where do you want me or want me to do madam?”
Commander Jean-Francois Millet, XO
OOC: Hate to disagree Old boy but the chest markings are pips “The rank insignia, presented as rectangular silver pips” To Quote Mem-Alpha. I made no mention of where they were ;)
IC:Rachel nodded her thank you “Just have a seat on this here bed” she pointed to the nearest examination bed “Aye tis true, ain’t much between The Scots and Francs, just the pitstop called England” She said jokingly. She grabbed the small medical scanner from her coat pocket and started a regular scan cycle “So how’d you end up in Starfleet?” She asked with genuine curiosity.
Dr. Grey CMO
“I think you mean the Armpitstop known as England.” He chuckled at that. “I wanted to get away from my family’s legacy for awhile and be known for who I am and not whom I am related to. That is why I left and joined and did what I wanted to do before I get stuck in the family business. What brings you here?”
XO
“Oh?” The doctor asked “When I was in medical school I took part of an experimental exchange program with the Andorians, they sent one of theirs to study with our Military and I went to Andoria, trained with their Imperial guard. Andorians have strong faith in servitude and some of that rubbed of on me, Starfleet was the only place I could go” She hit the side of her scanner as it stubbornly refused to give proper data “Blasted piece of junk” She swore under her breath.
Dr. Grey - CMO
OOC: Results of scan?
“Wow! That is very interesting. That must have been a really neat experience.” The scans showed he had a mild fever and was getting a cold, but everything else was good.
Jean-Francois Millet, XO
Rachel frowned then nonchalantly tossed the device behind her, somehow hitting a tray about a meter behind her. Ignoring the loud clanging sound as the device hit the metal surface she placed the back of her hand over the Commanders forehead “Oh dear” She lowered her hands to her hips “Well you’re getting a cold and have a mild fever, not much I can do in that department except prescribe some chicken soup, fluids, and rest. Don’t overdo it yer first few days and it should go away if you have any pain come see me immediately” She gave him a vacant look “I rarely sleep so you won’t be disturbing me. Try to avoid handshakes and if you feel the need to sneeze do so into the capital area” She tapped the inside of her arm and forearm joint. “But other than that ye seem in good health. Unless you have any questions I think yer free ta go.
