SS Sojourner
Post Sim - Intel Office Setup (Open to Anyone)
The former VIP quarters still held some of the furniture, but that was about as far as the continuity went. The carpet had been removed and the new floor was black and shiny, and made of sound-canceling panels. The cabinets and small kitchen area had been removed and now it was a full on office. Wall displays and a large desk with an interface built in sat against the far wall facing the door, below the windows. The dining table had been replaced with a meeting table capable of seating eight. Cabinets and drawers, all with security locks and tamper evident seals were scattered around the room. New baffeling in the walls canceled out noise coming from inside. The door to the office would only open to the Intel Officer or the Captain. But the biggest change was in the once-bedroom.
Inside, but accessible only by the new Intel Officer (or the Captain if certain circumstances presented themselves), was a full communications suite. Installed directly by Star Fleet Intel, the suite had closed communications and data retrieval capabilities and was rated to the top tier of classified information dissemination. Triple redundant security held the room secure, and any attempt to break in resulted in the immediate wiping of all hardware.
Baumann was adamant that the ship’s Engineering contingent be utilized for as much of the work as possible. He knew all too well how much Engineering teams hated outsiders messing with their systems. To that end, Baumann had provided power draw and environmental requirements for the spaces directly to the Chief Engineer in advance so that there would be no surprises as the space came on line.
Baumann stood in the office and looked around. It would do… it would do just fine.
