Jean-Francios was fresh to the ship and when the R&R was over he decided to have an official Department Head meeting to get to know the DH’s and they get to know him. He sent out a communications alert to them to be in the main conference room at 1400hrs or send a delegate from their department if they cannot make it. He wanted to make a good first impression and had Macaroons and binoits fresh and hot, for his guest along with coffee and juice. He sat at one of the chairs nearest the main chair but did not sit there.

Lt. (j.g.) Bohannon was early for the meeting; after all he could not be late for his first staff meeting as the ships Chief Engineer. His uniform was clean, pressed, and you could seen the shine on his new pips. It was clear that he was proud of his new position.

Alison came in, nose in a datapad. She had enough excitement for quite a while now, and she remembered why she had wanted to stay back on Earth. How in the world had she ever let them convince her to take this assignment. Hopefully the next assignment would be somewhere quiet, where they could just look at some more stellar phenomena.

“Commander,” she said as she walked into the room.
