Time seemed to slow down. Despite the bustle, people weren’t coming to the Bonnie quick enough.

Shuttles from the cities and from the star ship worked quick and sure. And the transporters were popping folks aboard one by one. Ari watched the stats and listened to the comms as she also watched the structural integrity readings… she wasn’t sure they’d make it.

Suddenly she had an idea… standing up, Ari looked at the view screen, fixed his last imagine in her mind and called his name… “Bane…”

She doubted he’d hear, and she couldn’t help by smile a few folks on the bridge snickered at get calling out to someone not even on the ship.

OCC: Um did my post get over looked I gave you a really good reason why the transporters should not be used.The black hole they have For power is having a bad day and I such a black hole in that state is throwing a gravitational waves in other distortions. I highly advised not to use the transporters for this reason.

((I think it did… but GM will have to decide how bad it gets, if it does. But that’s why Ari is doing it shorter range and only one at a time. Otherwise she’d be using both pads and staying just inside the sphere to maintain distance… so guess we see if the GM decides to mangle everyone of just shackle us to one at a time, with few seconds in between to be sure buffers are ready once more… but thanks for reminder…))

Isaac looked over his readings “ Sir if we are going to beam them out off the Sphere I will volunteer to go down to the planet with some pattern enhancers this will increase stable locks and make it a little bit safer for the residents that were bringing onboard” he said getting ready to move if the captain said go.

It sounded like a good idea and Ari was a bit worried that she hadn’t considered it. “Go ahead, Black… But the question is, how do we get enough to cover every location? Take a handful with you. I will reach engineering and see what can be done from here in the meantime. We can’t replicate and distribute as many of those as we would need. Make a couple sets available for the shuttle on its next run as well. Perhaps we can spread them quick enough to make a difference.” She nodded at him and watched as an Ensign slipped into his console spot to monitor the ship as they did the rescue.

OCC: my plan is to use the enhancers in a octagon shape A very large one we can move people in to the octagon to get as much people beamed up a board as fast as possible other people we can start using a hyper spray with a certain chemical that is non-lethal to tag the residents that will also help us get stable locks on them quickly I’m willing to do both plans if you’re OK with that Capt. ((please send sim questions to the GM… Not here… or find the GM or myself in Discord… don’t respond ooc in here anymore please))

Isaac bolted from his seat and was in the turbo lift with in seconds he got the pattern and he answers from storage grabbed a few sets of them then he got the hypospray tag he needed and was on his way to the transport room. As he stepped onto the transporter pad he waited patiently just for the officer to get a stable lock to Beam him down. He opened his COM device =^= Lieutenant black to make it on site I’m on my way down with pattern answers and a tag formula to help with the evacuation =^= then he looked up at the transport officer and said “ Energize“

The range was not far from the City sphere so the Bonnie could get in quite close to reduce the range and any interference from the Black Hole. However, the transporter technology was still developing. The pattern enhancers, while not really helping against the gravity, would help speed up the ability for beaming by up to a third.

As though by mundane means, Bane stepped out from the lift, having returned from the away mission, still looking eerily like a off color match of the Captain. “Captain?” he inquired as he stepped out.

Ari about jumped. She hadn’t actually expected him to answer. Turning to him, she shook her head. “This ship can’t hold everyone. I’m open to suggestions, provided your answer isn’t ‘then just let them die’.” As much as she knew that was the likely scenario, she wasn’t ready to hear it out loud yet.

The comm from the shuttle came just then. They were unloaded and heading back. Ari moved to hit the comm at her seat. =^=Copy that, Barr.=^= She said and looked at Bane. “So any suggestions?” She asked a bit irritated.

“You know how the Watchmen outside … warned you about the presence of the Bane. In this form I have been .. under their radar. You have a choice. Should I return to the form of my vessel I can transport the population who dwell here. However it risks an attack by the Watchmen on myself, possibly yourself, and at the least an enduring enmity between them and your people.” He paused. “If they come to battle, none of us may survive.”

A lot of scenarios and suggestions had crossed her mind about what Bane might say. But Ari never expected him to claim that his vessel was a form he could take at will, or that it could move everyone… though at the cost of all their lives.

“If we did that, how long would it take for you to acquire those who are left? And once full, where to we take them? Perhaps a planet just out of range where the Watchers won’t follow? Or do we use close enough to make them realize we do it out of mercy and not maliciousness?” She was speaking to Bane, but her mind was racing. She could cost this crew their lives for the sake of saving another race. It seemed counter productive but she couldn’t bring herself to dismiss it out of hand.

“It is a risk. I do not think all can be saved. This city sphere can fail and be pulled into the black hole at any time. I understand there are distant smaller spheres and would take time to collect them all. Do we wait and risk losing the Sphere? Or leave the distant spheres to themselves? The automated Watchmen will detect me when I expand to ship form.” Bane paused. “There are worlds to the edge of this sector beyond the Seven Dwarves that may be habitable.”

“Leave the other Spheres to themselves? How is what we do here going to harm them? We need to save all we can. But I also have to weigh our actions here if they affect a half dozen more of these inside out ‘worlds’.” She had just thought it a simple thing, when he asked… ship, fill, run like hell.

Now he was throwing the others in the mix? She sincerely hoped she had heard him wrong. If not, this was about to get ugly… fast.

Bane appeared the longsuffering being that a future Q might make. “No, the smaller living spheres here. Like Dal’s and others like them here inside this Dyson Sphere. You are focused on this large sphere - granted that is failing and will soon be pulled into the singularity - I am asking about the others that live beyond Dal’s smaller home sphere. Are they left behind? From my speaking with the others in the shuttle there may be again that population of beings not in this First City Sphere. “

She was at her wits end… save some, save none, leave others to chance? How did one make such a decision?

She gave a short barked laugh that sounded like it bordered on hysteria or helplessness. “I don’t suppose you know how to fix the black hole so we don’t have to worry about it?” She knew she had to make a decision fast. Save who she could, or risk losing everyone.
