She still didn’t like this idea, why couldn’t she just stay on the ship. She didn’t mind away missions, but this one seemed like a very high risk. She wanted to be prepared, just in case something bad happened.

[O] Captain to away team, status?[O]

[O] Barr here Captain. We are just waiting for Commander Baumann, and we will be able to get on our way. [O]

Ensign Bohannon walked up with his pack and looked at the shuttle team. “I have been given permission to join you, assuming you will have me. After all, you never know when you might need an Engineer” said Bohannon.

OOC: This is where I am entering the sim; this way I will not interrupt the other threads and can grow one here with you guys.

Bohannon

“Welcome Ensign, grab a seat,” Alison said as she looked around the shuttlepod. “We are just waiting on the XO to join us, and then we’ll be off. In the meantime, you can stow your gear back there,” she said gesturing towards the storage locker at the back.

With a smile on his face the young Ensign put his gear in the back of the shuttlepod and took his seat.

Ens. Bohannon

[O] Copy that, Barr… you guys be careful. Want everyone breathing and accounted for when this is over. [O]

[O] Understood Captain. We have not heard from the XO yet. How long should we wait? [O]

Alison wasn’t sure what the right answer was, but she hoped that they would wait. She didn’t want to think about what might happen otherwise.

Bohannon responded, “Lt. Barr, something tells me would should wait until told otherwise.”

OOC: I only posted this so that I don’t fall into late or AWOL status.

“Normally I agree. But something also tells me that we don’t have a ton of time before something bad might happen.”

A nondescript MACO non-comm stuck hi shead into the Pod as the trio of Sphere inhabitants, including Dal, squeezed in. The MACO, one Roger Henry pushed a tablet toward them while pushing up his glasses up his nose. “Have some preliminary scans of the area. What a mess. Tangled girders and everything. Looks like a giant hand just tore open the place. San Andreas couldn’t look worse. But I have three possible entry points for you here. One looks like an old transport line, another some kind of service tunnel and Buddah knows what the third was, but it’s big.”
- NE Roger … helping things .. maybe?

“I am glad you guys are here” said the Engineer.

Bohannon

“Thanks,” Alison taking the tablet. Sighing she moved over to the pilot’s seat. While she was qualified to fly the shuttle, she wasn’t exactly a master pilot. Hopefully the XO would show up, and would be able to take over. But I guess it is time to prepare for the worst, and hope for the best.

Looking at the scans she highlighted the old transport line. She passed it over to Bohannon. “We are trying to head as deep into the structure as possible. I’m thinking we follow the transport line. What is your thoughts?”

The Captain’s voice came over the shuttle comm a second last. [O] Barr, go ahead and proceed to Sphere. XO is needed elsewhere and won’t be joining you. Godspeed. And I want comms open at all times.[O] she gave a small laugh [O] not really interested in you guys being lost in there. [O]

((XO stepping off for personal reasons… this just keeps things moving))

Alison cursed under her breath. [O]Understood Captain. I’ll try to get us down in one piece. [O]

Taking a deep breath, Alison stretched her hands over the console. She just had to be calm and remember the training. It was going to be fine.

“Alright everyone, you heard the Captain. Let’s see what we can find down in the sphere. Ensign, I want you on the sensors, helping to guide us down.”

As she hit the controls, she powered up the shuttlepod, securing the hatches. When they had a positive reading on the bay doors, she tapped the controls, launching the shuttlepod. That was the easy part. The tricky part will be getting them to their landing zone.

The trip down was smooth and easy until they began to run into girders, cabling and simply torn metal understructure. As they moved from the open space to the torn region it was like something had blown out from underneath leaving a torn jagged opening that was still as sharp and rough in appearance as when it happened. Lighting was needed, and as they moved farther down they required a greater care to flying and navigation as the structure was like a maze.
