Dal put his thin arm up. “I will go.” The other, Tosc, looked daunted, but with Dal’s enthusiasm he felt he couldn’t say no. “As will I, he said.” Naro Kis’ lips pressed to a thin line. “My second, Gor Jen will go for First City. He is much .. younger than I.” Gor Jen appeared very surprised and no small way nervous but nodded.

Ari took a deep breath, glanced at her own crew a moment to see if there were any strong oppositions.

She then turned to the others and nodded. “All right, then… let’s co explore some metallic caves.” She looked around to see who would go. “Barr, I want you on this one so you can assess immediately if there are any needs. And Baumann, want you on this one as well. I will trust your judgement on what we can and cannot help with once down there, in as far as resources go.” She let her eyes finish the statement that they didn’t want to push the sphere occupants into a space age dependent society. Despite the high tech housing they were ensconced in, they didn’t seem at the point they could use replicators, and warp drive to better their situation without a significant scientific jump in their society.

Ari tapped out a couple more security officers, and another science officer, Naomi, as well as a medical NE. She made sure everyone was fed and rested before sending them out, once more. She moved to the bridge to monitor what was going on and hoped that this was settled soon.

Bane, a silent addition in the back of the room, inquired, “Am I welcome?” he asked.

Ari glanced to Baumann a moment then back to Bane. She straightened her shoulders just a bit and nodded politely. “I’m sure your recommendations would be welcome. Though I will ask that you please be careful and defer to my people for safety sake.” She nodded once more and headed for the bridge, her mind finishing the thought she had only partially voiced. And I hope you don’t mess this up while you’re there.

Alison mentally groaned. That was definitely not what she had in mind when she signed up for this ship. Going down to some hostile alien construction, searching for who knows what.

“Yes Captain, I’ll grab some gear and get ready to go.”
