Having finished with her patients Rachel moved around the room checking on the others she hadn’t treated to see if there were any others she’d need to check. Despite the circumstances this had been and extremely rewarding experience. The time spent both on Earth and Andoria hadn’t sufficiently prepared for this, at least in the terms of improvising the repairing of unknown alien biology. It felt like a really difficult yet satisfying puzzle.
Dr. Grey - CMO
Alan was soon surrounded by Tosc, Dal, Kir, and one other named Cip, who would accompany Tosc as his second. “We must transmit this meeting,” Tosc said. “I represent ‘Second City’ and Dal represent the People off the Free-Spheres along with the ones in Sphere City who approach. I know I can speak for us, but Dal needs to know he is carrying the voice of the Free-Spheres. We will go and I will assist him. When the people from the Sphere City arrive, we will meet them in time and travel in their vessel to yours. Please convey this to your people.” With that they all moved off towards the communications console.
Meanwhile Dr Grey found that her patients were drying up in that normal day to day injuries were dwindling. However, a young girl took Dr Grey’s hand and took her to where an aged female was laying on a cot. She was wizened and her eyes bearing a creamy coat over them. “This is Elder Zey,” the girl said. “She is old.”
“Bel, is that you?” Said the old Zey. The voice was thin and wheezy. “Fetch me a Sus Fruit please.”
“Elder Zey, I bring you a healer from .. outside.” She looked at Grey imploringly. “Can you help her?” She slipped away from them, in theory to fetch some fruit.
“Bel is a good girl. Impetuous,” Zey said.Meanwhile on the shuttle sphere that they were trying to fix … the engines were patched together with spit and baling wire. Yul was helpful in explaining how the engines worked. They were a derivative of a familiar ion drive but ad hoc’d so much that it was hard to see that. Once it was explained then the engineers and XO could better work on it. It would take them traversing a rather skinny ‘Jeffries tube’ to do what needed doing. What that was was essentially either replace or figure out how to reinforce a series of coolant piping that had been corroded, patched, repatched, and re-routed through another set of tubes taped onto it. What was happening was that the coolant was not able to effectively get through the tubing to the engine reactors and that was causing the engines to, at worst, stall, or at best, work at less than 10% efficiency.
- WookieeBaumann looked at the Engineers and said “What if we ran one of the patched-in tubes along the exterior of the vessel? Exposure to vacuum would dissipate the heat more efficiently than this… hybridization. It would also allow for emergency jettison of coolant should these patches fail. Thoughts?”

“Would we have any parts in our shuttle?” T’Leia asked with a slight frown of concentration as she looked at Baumann.
T’Leia
“Possibly.” and he looked at NE Bravern. “Ensign. Go to our shuttle and see if we have anything that could assist us in getting these lines reran. And do hurry, Ensign.” Baumann said calmly.
Between the two shuttles they would find something to cobble together a fix as suggested. The machine shop on the Bonnie would be more efficient but that was a matter of ‘fix now’ or ‘fix later’.
The comm started her again but this time the CO didn’t squeal like a child. [O] Dysart, if you need to, bring them outside the sphere in the shuttle in small groups. Maybe one guard from each side, then the Representatives. We should be able to beam them aboard once outside the sphere. [O]

Meanwhile the larger ship from the Sphere City loomed larger as it approached, and, with a practiced efficiency lowered a docking tube that latched onto the Dal port. Three came through the open port. One was evidently a bodyguard - a being not seen before. Much more lizard like in appearance, it was thick and muscled by comparison to those of the Dal and related clans. It would be equal in mass as a Crewman of the Bonnie though. The two others were similar to Dal only looking better fed and dressed. The one in the lead looked officious with a thick glittering metal necklace that ran down past its chest and also carried a dark wooden carved staff. The second was similar less the decorations.
Seeing the crew he looked taken aback, but recovered. “I am Naro Kis. Who is Bona Ven Tur? Where is you kingdom?”
- Wookiee
No longer filling needed, Naomi took a step back from the console. Her eyes drifted to the crew working with the aliens and finding a sense of relief filled her. Things were looking up rather down, showing her the difference they all made. At least from her point of view. Naomi exhaled while she casually monitored the engine’s status. She hoped things would hold for now.
