There was a long pause before a far more confused message came [o] What? There are no worlds. They have all been sucked into the Eye. [o] The vessel moved in closer - so close that they could see reptilian like faces peering through port holes at them. [o] What are you? [o] That voice sounded more .. panicked.

She tapped the console on her chair to call to the away teams. [O]Status update… MACO? Baumann? What’s happening out there? We’ve moved closer to assist but We can’t penetrate the sphere much to see what’s going on.[O]

Baumann keyed the comms to include the Bonaventure Bridge. [O] As I said, we are explorers from outside your sphere. We mean no harm, and wish to assist those in need of aid. To do so, however, you will need to halt your removal of your prize. Again I say: We will not allow you to jeopardize the safety of those who rely on it. We are here to help, but you will need to make a gesture of good will on your part as well. [O] Baumann then muted the Raiders and then said to the Marine contingent [O] Block their trajectory if possible. Do not fire unless fired upon. [O]

Baumann, AC

The Captains voice came through on the Bonaventure’s frequency. [O] Lieutenant Baumann, you are hereby field promoted to Lieutenant Commander and made XO for the duration of the mission. T’Leia is your adviser. Mission parameters haven’t changed. I have every faith in you. [O] Baumann’s face remained calm but his jaw clenched tightly. In his typical even and calm manner, he responded [O] Understood, Captain. [O] Now wasn’t the time to get into a discussion about politics and timing.

Baumann, XO

The two ships themselves looked, by their rickety progression in space, to be deliberating on the situation and struggling to reach a decision. Making a close pass in turning that brought them within meters of one another, first one of the raiders, then the second, turned away. Their course was for what the sensors could pick up, a large cluster of energy and life readings some distance away.

Melissa watched and matched the raiders speed and trajectory [O]We are from a place called earth in the Sol system that was not sucked into the Eye.[O] she added [O]We are explorers and our mission is to help those in need. [O] She repeated the sentiments already spoken, hoping that it might get through to one of them and they would use some sort of logic.

MACO

Baumann watched the change in trajectory and then radioed the MACO. [O] Colonel Tafoya. I suggest we assist with the evacuation of the refugees who requested help. Please alter course to these coordinates. [O] and he gave her the location of the docking area. [O] Once we have them safe, we can attempt to contact the others at their own base of operations. Being on their home area may make them more amiable and comfortable dealing with strangers. Do you concur? [O]

Melissa nodded as she keyed up her comms [O] Agreed. Altering course now.[O] She said as she changed the route of the shuttle that she was in and headed toward where the refugees were to assist in their movement. [O] How many refugees do we have?[O] Melissa asked

He then changed course back to the other party and Dal’s people. [O] Bonaventure. Raider vessels heading for these coordinates. I am returning to assist in the evacuation. Advise that once refugees are secure we attempt to contact the other faction at those coordinates for fact-finding and negotiations. [O]

Baumann, AC

[O] I concur.... let’s get everyone to safety then see if we can find a way to make peace and help everyone involved. [O] Ari’s voice came back a moment later. She managed not to add her thoughts of gods know how, though.

The speed and trajectory of these makeshift raiders were less than what the shuttle pods were capable of. As they moved from the corridor of potential battle back toward their ‘base’, the other shuttle pod could easily close the distance to approach the larger, central sphere connected with tubes and smaller spheres giving the uncanny look of a child’s attempt at a molecular model.

As he returned to the rest of the team, Baumann toggled the comms to the Bonaventure. [O] Captain, I have a question. We obviously have multiple factions we are dealing with, some with more advantages but perhaps less resources than others. Should we try and mediate a mutually beneficial treaty of of some kind? At least the two factions we have dealt directly with so far speak before they fight. Perhaps bringing them to a neutral location for talks would be a prudent course of action for all parties. [O]

OOC: Sorry for my abscense. Work has been a problem and I am traveling more and more..June will slow down with that.

MACO

So far so good in that the raiders heading away and space appearing safe again. The Zool vessel that was approaching drew near and halted close to Dal’s habitation. If a squashed spherical vessel with little defining features could have an emotion displayed it would be that of ‘uncertainty’ of what to do next with these ‘alien’ ships around.

Not long later the Interceptor shuttle would note a larger vessel breaking off from the Sphere ‘city’ that the raiders had come from. Sensors would show it to be large - as large as the Bonnie, ovoid in shape and moving slowly in their direction. It was holding some 30 life forms aboard.

Melissa noted the movement =^= Bonnie and shuttles watch that big ship.=^= She said moving her shuttle to intercept.

MACO

There was no issue with the shuttle intercepting. Indeed, the larger craft didn’t change course at all but continued on its way toward the Dal clan home. Upon the same frequency that they had warned off the raiding vessel.
