Travis shot up in bed, sweat soaked his sheets and tank top. His breathing was labored and staggered, his head narrowly missing the top of the bunk. He sat there trying to figure out where he was, his mind fogged from whatever dream he had been having. He could not keep a grip on what it was as the dreams faded and the surroundings of the small room came into focus. He tried to go back to sleep but was unable, looking at the clock he sighed and stood up and grabbed a towel.

Stepping quietly into the open sleeping quarters of the rest of the team he moved as quietly as possible as to not disturb the team, they were all light sleepers so it was not an simple task at all. He made is way to the showers to clean up, it would not be the first shower he took at two am and it certainly would not be the last.

It was not long before he was in a pair of sweats and tee shirt marked with a MACO insignia and the logo of the ship on the shoulders. His muscles stretched the cloth as if trying to break free for their bondage.

Travis made his way toward the observation room where he might find some peace from his dreams, walking in he found a place to sit and stared off into the distance think on his lost friend wondering when the nightmares would stop.

OOC: anyone is welcome if your up ;)

He stood there looking out into the vastness of space, never believing that he would lose his best friend. One moment they had been planning what they were going to do when they got back to the barn, and the next minute he was gone. He had never felt more alone than he did now. He had to lead the team without a leader, he could not confide in them, they needed a rock to lean on not a wet noddle. “I miss you man” he wispered under his breath.

Stewart was having a slight case of insomnia himself, more then likely his body was still adjusting to the time difference being aboard ship. Though it was not an uncommon occurrence even on his ship at sea on Earth. He wandered into the Observation Deck and was surprised to see one of the MACOs sitting in the dark.
“Ahhh, Ah did not mean to disturrb ye. Trrouble sleeping as well?” He asked as he stood just past the door with his hands in his trouser pockets. If the other man wished to be alone he would continue his own lonely walk on the decks.

Travis looked over, “I’m afraid it’s a common occurance these days Sir” he said he was off duty and out of uniform but was unsure if he needed to maintain formalities, he started to stand.

Stewart waived him back down as he entered the room.” Ahh, Ah do love the look of yon starrs. The main differrence between looking at starrs out herre comparred to frrom the deck of a ship on Earth is that they arre so much clearrerr out herre!”

Relieved, Travis sat back down looked out at the Stars. “I’ll have to admin it makes me unconfortable, I’m much more at east in the mud sir” he noted rubbing his legs which were sore from his earlier workout. Travis was nervious about his pending application for Officer Candidate School. “Sir can I ask you a question?”

“Absolutely, what’s on ye mind, Staff Sergeant?”
Stewart asked as a brief picture of the other man crawling through the mud appeared in his mind. Something he couldn’t picture for himself but he supposed it was akin to his own sailing on Earth’s waters. They each had their own element of comfort.

Travis thought about how to phrase it , he did not want to sound uncertain, “Sir, my former Captain recommend me for OCS, I recently subited the paper work, but I was wondering, how different is it really. ” he said with a short pause.

“What I mean is, I like being in the sh,,, er in the thick of things with my men, I’m not sure I’m built for a desk” he noted
