[PRESIM]

The Ensign paced across the corridor, her cat staring at her as if she had gone crazy. The fast pitter-patter of her heart echoing into her skull was driving her crazy, but it wouldn’t stop, the anxiety the young woman felt was overwhelmingly strong.

Was she even prepared to go into space? Her home had been Earth for 23 years of her life. How could she leave now? Still, the voices of her parents urging her to go travel rang in her mind.

” We’ll be here when you get back Cherub, you’ll be alright”

Her forest green eyes glanced one look at her cat, and she nodded to the feline companion, who dutifully took her place at her owner’s side. With one deep breath, Evie knocked on the door and awaited an answer.
