Things had settled down since the bug attack on the bridge and the subsequent medical check. Marceau paced in his ready room, hands behind his back. It was time he and Commander Grace had a private chat about her conduct earlier in sickbay. He’d paged her to the ready room already, now he awaited her arrival, somewhat nervously.

It had to be done though. Questioning his orders in front of his crew couldn’t happen. And the things she’d said had been insulting. If they were going to be an effective command team, this had to be settled. Finally he sat down, hiding his nerves, waiting quietly.

When Heather got the page she took a deep breath. She had known it was only a matter of time, and was ready for it. Taking a moment she straightened her uniform, and redid the ponytail that she had her hair up in. In truth there was only so much stalling she could get away with, so she might as well get this over with. The worst that could happen would be that she would end up getting shipped back to Earth. If that’s what came of this, so be it.

Stepping out of the lift she made her way across the bridge and stopped outside the Ready Room. A quick adjustment of her uniform later, she rang the chime. When the door opened she stepped through, stood up straight and looked directly at the wall in front of her.

“Reporting as ordered Captain.”
