[snip]When the grav plating was turned off everyone got very light indeed very quickly. The creature’s claws for a second provided a moment ot hook onto the controls and weapon’s panel which caused a bit more damage as its mucus worked against it now causing it to slip free, the further damage to the bridge’s console controls to target and relay information to the armory for firing solutions was worse now but the creature was now floating between the console, ceiling and floor helplessly. It screeched, hissed, and flailed about clearly in anger at its helpless situation as bits of spark and energy discharge came from the weapon’s console underneath it but not enough to harm it or anyone else.

Steady with one hand and a foot Green refrained to wave the spanner lest momentum and force take him away. In his mind he simply winced at the damage that creature was causing which his people would need to fix. Serinde would be a good candidate for that. But he was ready for any change in course of the creature. Who knew, it may have a flatulent episode and be propelled to the bulkhead and with those claws gain enough purchase to move or launch away once surprise was gone. Hopefully someone with a weapon would be by to target the creature. If he smacked it with his spanner - provided it came within range - he might help it than hinder it. He did glance over his shoulder to see how Samuels was doing.

Helena had her feet locked around the leg of her console and holding onto her chair. Thank good ess everything was anchored. When the gravity went down, she watched the creature. When it settled into place midair she slowly propelled herself in the opposite direction and towards Aiden and Stolks. She held on to whatever console, chair, or strut was close at hand, to keep her away from the creature. Reaching them, she snagged the med kit and opened it. “Hang on Aiden. Medical and Security are on their. You’re going to be fine.” She silently willed said help to hurry up, as she started pressing gauze and wrapping bandages as best she could.

Aiden shook himself somewhat out of the dazed stupor the attack had left him in, helping bandage himself as well as he could. Once the immediate bleeding was stemmed, he pushed himself up to hover level with the console. “Hopefully,” he coughed. “In the meantime, I’ll see what I can do with that data.” He shook his head as if dislodging an insect as his vision began to fade back to blurred.

Marceau rode the lift toward A deck after leaving decon. As the lift reached the deck, gravity shut off, and Marceau had to propel himself onto the bridge. The bridge was a mess. Helena was okay, Aiden was not. There was a thing on his bridge. Marceau asked a question in French, then immediately repeated it in English: “What is that?!”
He worked his way to Aiden’s station, careful to avoid the thing on the bridge. “How are you doing?” He asked gently, gesturing to the wound. “Doctor Grey is on her way.”

As everyone floated away from the creature said creature was it seems calming down a bit, evidently higher brain functions of a sort put it to thinking about its current problem. After a second or two it began experimentally it seemed flicking this way and then, getting a feel for the 0g and how it effected it. There was clearly some intelligence there. As a result it soon was drifting closer it seems to the ceiling getting nearer and nearer to the upper tactical console lip which it was trying to get perch on first with its barbed spiked tail and presumably then to get purchase for another attack or something......
Meanwhile blood droplets both from Green and the NE that had died rescuing him before gravity was shut off was floating about here and there, the dead NE’s body was also near the creature where he had fallen, there would defiantly be a bit of clean up to handle once this got under control, what else could happen after all to make things worse right?.....

OOC: Posting Naomi’s post in ..
IC:
Everything happened so fast. She had been waiting for the medical team before a monster jumped out of the vent and attacked a man. Her mind froze. With wide eyes, she witnessed the beast slaughter him. Splatters of wet blood hit her skin and uniform, staining it red. She stood there dumb founded by the sight. The rest blurred into a haze of events. When the gravity died, her body lifted into the air as she floated among the gore.
The shouts, death, and strained metal echoed in her head. Conflict was always a weakness of hers and blood made it worse due to her past. A subtle tremble quaked through her form. This wasn’t suppose to happen, she thought.

This was where problems start thought Green as he watched the creature experiment on its situation. It was not a simple creature, he saw and not one without intelligence. A normal animal would flail about without much thought in such an environment and panic or just go limp. This creature was acting like some new recruits in zero G for the first time. Initial panic and then settle and get the feel of it. Cluttering up the ‘airspace’ was the blood and bodies and that was not good either. Moreover the Captain was just here. “Mind yourself Skipper,” he said to the Captain. “This thing is smart, quick and very nasty.” He kept up the spanner but had the sinking feeling that the creature would have it in mind to attack the unprepared and the one less able to defend - strike the weak in the herd.
Seeing Naomi float up without purchase he said in a calm, deliberate tone, “Lieutenant, listen to me, keep calm. If ye can find something to push off of or grab on to do it. If you push off aim for something you will grab onto. Mind ye now, not hard. Just a gentle push will carry you.”
“Mind you all,” he said in his clipped English baritone. “It may be able to launch soon. Eyes on it.” And where was security with something that would take it out?! All he knew was that if it got within spanner range he would give it a good smack, though, with its speed he would be looking to be prepared to duck too.
