The doors to sickbay slid open and the ebony skinned Armory Chief ducked into the room. He clasped his hands behind his back as he looked around and, spying a nurse, he walked forward. Looking down, he said “Good afternoon. I am Lieutenant Mthunzi Nkosenye. I am here for my screening.” His voice rolled low and deep, and his accent gave the sound of his voice an exotic tenor.

Nurse Dunn nodded “Please have a seat on any of the Beds, the doctor will be with you shortly” He said indicating to the nearby beds before continuing with his work.

Nkosenye nodded and moved to a table, taking a seat on it even though his feet still reached the floor.

From the back of the small medical bay a woman in a white medical coat over the blue Starfleet jumpsuit, two rank pips of a lieutenant. She was unusually tall, standing just under two meters yet still not reaching the Armory Chiefs impressive height, her red hair was a mess of curls that seemed to bob and weave as she walked. “Good afternoon Lieutenant, I am Doctor Rachel Grey, Chief Medical Officer. Welcome to the Sojurner” She cocked her head to the side and smiled a crooked smile in welcome.

Dr. Grey - CMO

Mthunzi nodded towards her and said “Thank you, Doctor. I am Lieutenant Mthunzi Nkosenye, Armory Chief. I am happy to be here.” His voice was octaves deeper than most, and his words, while clear, were spoken with an accent that was rich and exotic… even for a Star Fleet vessel.

Rachel nodded and put her hand into her coat pocket “A pleasure” Her own voice was a deeper voice for a woman and her accent was a southern Scottish variant. She produced a small medical scanner from her coat “Been in the service long?” she asked

Dr. Grey - CMO

“Seven standard years.” Nkosenye replied. “I was originally planning on being a Ranger at the preserve near my home but… plans change, do they not?” he said somewhat stoically. “What about you, Doctor? If I am not mistaken, you are from the islands of the former United Kingdom, yes? Scottish?” he asked.

Rachel smiled at his question “That I am and that they do.” She started the standard medical scan cycle “Grew up on the family farm, went to medical school with designs to serve on a Starship, have a mentor of sorts, sponsored me during my last years of schooling”.
