Naomi smirked as she gave instruction.

“See this tip?” She pointed to the end opposite of the lower part of the T.

“Just press it tightly to a mostly even section of ground. Then press the button up at the handle,” Her finger moved to the button just above the tube. It was hard to miss since it was bright red on the dull colors.

“The end comes off when you hold here and twist. You get a cap and seal it. You then grab another one,” Naomi pulled it from her bag and passed it over, “then repeat. I want at least six samples to start off with from different locations. I’m going to set up the rest of the gear. If you find something odd, let me know.”

Once Lt Laursen was set, Naomi dug about in her bag. Pulling several devices used for focusing on collecting soil samples to scanning moisture levels.

Once the pictures were taken, Marceau got to work scanning some of the nearby plant life, checking for anything, either good (helpful/medicinal), or bad (toxic).

Taking a large, deep breath of the air of the new planet, Logan bounced back and forth ‘lightly’ on his feet and even jumped a couple of times. The gravity was supposed to be heavier here, and he couldn’t help but try it out.

Finally, he clipped the picnic basket to his belt, adjusted the other took of his trade and turned back to the shuttle, lifting a small bag that held a variety of sensors and measuring devices, This he slung over his shoulder and made his way towards Laursen and Locke.

“Looks like I’m with you,” Logan flashed Laursen a grin and focused on Locke. “We haven’t had much time to meet during the trip out, the ship kept us busy. Kelleher, Logan Kelleher.” He introduced himself. “Looks like you got the dirty job huh?”

Helena took the equipment Locke gave her. “Sounds easy enough.” She made sure her communicator was in the sleeve pocket of her jumpsuit and then headed away from the group. Not far well within eye sight, but to get a good solid variety of soil samples.
