[snip]Slumping back, he ran a hand over his jaw and the light beard that rested there. “I’ve worked on a couple of the other LR class ships as part of the research Division, installing test equipment and upgrades so I know her as well as anyone I guess. Okay, you’ve got your guy buddy. Captain. There’s no way I’m going to turn down an offer to head back to space. When does she ship out?”
OOC: So reading this? I burst out laughing hearing the ‘you’ve got your buddy’ part. Cause I suddenly pictured Logan like a south park Canadian saying it like that! HAHA
Logan Kelleher
“I’ll be flying up tonight. I don’t really have the time to lounge with you too long. I need to pack. Helena will be flying a shuttle up to the ship at 0030. If you want to catch it, don’t be late. Otherwise, someone else can fly you up. You’ll need to be aboard by 1100 tomorrow, she ships out at 1430.” Marceau said. “The city is very nice tonight.” He commented, gesturing to the view Logan had mentioned earlier.
~ Captain Renault
“When the clouds and rain give way, yeah it is. You got a good night for it.” Logan grinned. “There is a supply shuttle heading up at 0700, we had it pegged for essential parts that her Engineers can install themselves but I can tag along with them. I’ll need time to sort my affairs here anyway, maybe get that bartender from last night to water the plants.” He waved his hand towards the cactus’ in full knowledge that they didn’t need watering.
“So you and Helena, you seem close?” Logan looked over at Marc now and grinned.
Logan Kelleher
Marceau shrugged, “We’ve been friends for years. Just like you and I have. She is the best pilot I know, you are the best engineer I know. No one else I’d rather go into deep space with.” He let his accent get a little heavier as he answered Logan’s question. “Why do you ask?”
~ Captain Renault
“Oh no reason,” Logan shrugged and picked up his beer again, taking a sip and looking at Marc. “You two get on well, you look like you relax and feel easy and happy with her, and she’s cute.” He put down the beer bottle and shrugged. “No reason at all. Idle chit chat and all that. So 1100 tomorrow then final boarding happens? I wonder if I can smuggle my bike on. Don’t tell the Captain I said that by the way.”
Logan Kelleher
Marceau gave Logan a look, his cheeks flushing a little. “C-cute? She’s… well, of course she’s attractive,” the color in his lightly freckled cheeks darkened as he went on, “But we’re… we’re friends, we get on well because we’ve known each other so long.” Anyone who knew Marceau also knew how oblivious he could be. You essentially had to slap him in the face with it for him to see it. He put on a serious face. “1100 tomorrow. And no bikes! It’s new, but it’s not that large of a ship.”
~ Captain Renault
“Friends,” Logan parroted, “that’s perfect, I mean friends is easy and she likes you, or you wouldn’t be friends.” He put aside the part he was working on and the spanner, then picked up his drink again and relaxed back into his lounger. He even placed his left ankle onto his right knee as if he was super relaxed and thinking. “I like that connection you two have, she’s got your back and the two of you have had some experiences, three times.” He emphasized.
“Dependable people are important,” said Marceau, apparently missing Logan’s point entirely.
“Three times and she’s still by your side finding you in a bar in San Francisco after flying you to Earth.” Now Logan turned and smiled at Marc. “She sounds like a woman that’s worth having by your side, Captain. And fine, no bike. I’m taking my jukebox though, I’ve seen the lounge on that ship.”

Marceau shrugged. “A jukebox is allowed. Don’t you have a personal music player or something?” Glancing at Logan, “She is a fantastique pilot. Considering my… questionable skills as you pointed out so nicely at the bar, a good pilot is a great crew choice.”
~ Captain Renault
“And she’s cute,” Logan reminded him with a smirk. “You have to love a woman that can take the controls, right. Like she said, you have great taste pal.” Finishing his beer, he dropped the empty back into the box and stretched, his long frame extending above and beyond the lounger that creaked under him.
Marceau glanced at him and then shrugged almost awkwardly. He was beginning to get the impression Logan meant more than friends. “She… I told you, we’re friends.”
“The ships got personal media player points in the quarters, but I mean specifically for the lounge. Tryst me, I’ve seen the speakers they installed. You’ll want the jukebox so you can go dancing with your friend.”
Kelleher
Marceau gave him another look. “Friends can dance, too.” In fact they had, at the bar, when Marceau had come back after his meeting with the brass. Logan had been gone by then.
~ Captain Renault
“Yes they can, you are absolutely right, Captain.” Logan nodded, then looked at Marc again. “She waited for you to come back to the bar, right? I bet you even went out to dinner? I think your friend thinks very, very highly of you.” Now, Logan winked at Marc and pushed himself to his feet, brushing off his trousers. “I also bet, that you need to go pack a few things before you head up. Don’t let me keep you or you’ll be late for your dat… flight.” Logan caught his word and changed it, but it was far too quick and smooth to be accidental.
Logan Kelleher
“She waited.” Marceau confirmed. He turned a little red at Logan’s next comment and shrugged. “It was a celebration. For the ship. Not a date.” He was relieved when Logan brought up his packing. “Yes, that’s my next stop, then I’m headed straight to the gamma launch padd to meet Helena.” He gave Logan a look at his ‘slipped word’. “It’s a flight, not a romantic location.”
~ Captain Renault
“Of course Captain, that’s totally why you will probably fly over France and wherever she comes from before you leave. Trust me, she likes you, friend.” Patting Marc on the shoulder Logan laughed. “I hear France is beautiful this time of year.”
His face turned bright red when Logan told him she liked him. “C’est ridicule. France is not inherently romantic. And we would have no reason to pass over it.”
“Oh, is there anything you want me to make sure I bring on the final supply shuttle? Last chance. What’s Helena’s favourite Ice Cream?” When Logan paused and looked at Marc now, he was completely straight faced. “You do not want to run out of that up there, believe me. 0700, should be fun!”
Kelleher, CE
Marceau glanced up at Logan and grinned his own smile, “Helena… she does not like the ice cream. She is intolérante au lactose.” French for ‘lactose intolerant’, Marceau had answered the question honestly. “Perhaps instead, you should leave space for ship nécessités?” He stood from the lounger chair, refolded it, and set it back where he’d gotten it from. “À demain, Logan.” (See you tomorrow).
