The dreaded physical.

Shia didn’t quite understand the hatred behind physicals, beyond the invasion of personal space. Otherwise, it seemed vital to ensure any incoming personnel were healthy and not bringing aboard a nasty virus as their carryon item. A ‘please check all illnesses at the door,’ sort of thing.

Navigating the halls, she found her way into the Sickbay, her steps light in spite of her seemingly heavy composure. Standing beside the door, she searched for any sign of a doctor or any medical professional to help her get this portion of the procedure checked off on.

Rolling her shoulders to release tension build up, the young woman found herself waiting for any sign of those doctors.

In the middle of the sickbay stood a tall woman, well was more spinning in a full pirouette, her long white robe swishing with her. Once she noticed the Andorian the woman stopped herself, almost falling in the process, only barely managing to grab onto a nearby bed. Once she had fully stopped she threw back her auburn hair and smiled a crooked smile “<Greetings on this auspicious day>” the tall woman greeted Jharaas in Andorian, her accent was fairly impeccable but her pronunciation clearly Human “I’m Lieutenant Doctor or Doctor Lieutenant Grey. Whichever you prefer” She put her hands on her hips, moving her coat out of the way revealing a small blue ribbon tied to her belt in a respectful knot. The MACO CO would recognize it as the Andorian Blue Ribbon of Bravery and thusly the Doctor as its sole Human recipient. “I’m assuming that you’re Lieutenant Jharaas” Now she spoke in English with a soft Scottish accent “Welcome to the Bonnie, lass”

“An Andorian Ribbon of Bravery,” Her tongue was laced by the thick accent of the language she spoke freely. It was softer when spoken, but in English, it was a bit sharper. “I have heard of a human receiving it once before, but it is an occurence as rare as your blue moon.” As a Guard, someone who understood deeply the importance of honour and valiance, found a different respect for the Doctor, which she had not yet achieved for anyone else, beyond that of a decency. She thought of the name, considering where she had heard it before. An idea came to mind, but didn’t bother asking the question, “That would be my name, yes,” The Andorian’s English was fair, considering her people were beginning to be required to know the language, specifically if they desired any off-world assignments. “Thank you, Doctor. I do not mean to take up your time, but do you have a moment to spare for a physical?”
