“All right, here’s the plan. We’re going to figure out how to severe the connection from the power source to the device without cutting it off from the cryo pods. Then we’ll investigate the pods. If you don’t want to help, you can stay here and I’ll figure it out myself.” Naomi had already turned and started to access the computer again. She hoped to find some type of map or specs to help her locate how the power was fed into the device.

Samuels and the other NE’s just gave nods, getting to work to help Naomi in shutting down the reactor without affecting the cryopods. It did seem there was a way to shut things down without affecting the cryo pods. On a second pass through the system architecture she found that the cryopods had a 3 hour battery backup which was still online. So in this case once the main reactor here to the mysterious gravity producing device that had them stuck here was taken off line they would then have three hours to safely transport the cryopods back to the ship to safely awaken the occupants, if they didn’t then they would die in cryo sleep.

After a bit of back and forth shouting in the cavernous room, things seemed ready for Naomi. With a flick of the final switch the massive background humming that up till now had been vibrating through their bones slowly ceased. The light the reactor was producing and the offset radiation immediately faded and soon the team was left mostly in a quiet and dark cavernous room with only a few tiny red emergency lights showing where ladders and the distant exit was up above.

Not fully happy with the outcome, Naomi immediately contacted the bridge.

=^= Locke to bridge, I disconnected the power from the cryo pods and turned off the main reactor. You got three hours to transport those pods before their reserved power dies.=^= For now, she was grateful to bring this little adventure to an end. Even though the CO might give her an earful for not waiting for her request over advice. In her defense, they shouldn’t have taken so long to reply.

She finished whatever was left then gestured for the others to follow her. No time was wasted as she headed for the exit, aiming to leave this horrid place for better scenery.
