There really wasn’t much to say about the orbital satellites. None were really in working order anymore for a variety of reasons. Either from the massive waves of planetary EMPs that had knocked them out, crashes with other out of control satellites, or in many other cases due to both types being armed by either missiles or low level laser weapons and having destroyed each other in the likely opening moments of the massive planetary war below.

Overall though they were simple things, constructed mostly of steel and the like, made up of primitive circurity and powered once by either small fusion batteries or in the case of the larger armed ones small nuclear reactors.

Isaac took note of all the details and did a scan on the world below and see if he can pick up on more Com cheddar.

Not much more comm chatter was picked up by Isaac, between the annihilation from both sides radio traffic was a mess to decipher, what little there was picked up.

As this all happened the ebbing and flow of the gravity anomalies in and around the planet and the vast system about them suddenly seemed to ebb out and cease! Within minutes the ripple effects and stirring gaseous around them (and later when they would check even the 4 light year radius that trapped them) was soon gone! They were free, but in turn the alien planet was still here and present. Further picked up was that the mysterious powerful energy source that the landing party had been studying at the abandoned base deep below the surface of the planet had ceased.

More to the point though on scans, suddenly above the northern pole region something seemed to shimmer then fade into view! Above the pole was a large deeply black diamond shaped object of some sort. Going off the scans the object was 60 meters high by 35 meters wide. As they watched at the top and bottom tips of the object two small white light sources begin to blink in a slow pulse effect, which as they further would watch over the next two minutes had steadily grown in speed.

Scans picked up an energy source from the large diamond object, the power plant was some kind of advanced fusion power source similar in scope to what their own impulse engines used, but much more powerful. To put them in comparison the alien object’s reactors were putting out roughly 300% more energy then what the Bonaventure’s two impulse motors could do on their best days. No signs of life from the alien object was picked up, though there was some kind of reaction going on over on the object. What exactly would happen was anyone’s guess.
