Nearby hopping down from one of the upper catwalks, MACO NE Charles joined Naomi and the others after their patrol on the upper catwalks finished. He returned with a report in hand from a hand scanner which he offered to the science NE Samuel. Turning Samuel addressed Naomi who was by default it seems referred to as the senior most officer in charge. “..Ma’am, seems that this is for sure the source of the energy emissions we picked up in orbit. Still not sure what its generating but its powerful beyond known sciences. From what we can piece together the main reactor is a four tiered system building upon the other to ramp up the projections of energy output for the final fourth tier generator before us.” he said gesturing to the massive cavern sized sphere above them.

”..The first tier of power comes from these fusion reactors here, they seem to be nothing more then standard Starfleet issue fusion generators salvaged off an impulse motor. No different then what we use on the Bonaventure in fact. These are then tied into a secondary system which their power is fed through a strange mix of Starfleet and some kind of alien reactor using something similar to a matter/antimatter reaction chamber the output here is almost equal to our own Warp 5 engine on the ship.” He explained pointing to a rack of nearby fusion generation plants which in turn fed plasma and fluids into a matter/antimatter reaction chamber.

Continuing with his explanation he nodded to a nearby series of massive pipes and conduits, “..In turn this output is then combined with siphoned geothermal energy turbines deeper below us in the bedrock, tying almost literally into the planet’s core. These are then combined together into another reaction chamber there..” he said pointing to a spinning pair of reaction systems along the wall. “..These produce together some kind of unknown energy particle reaction which is sent to the final power tier into the massive reaction chamber above us..” he said indicating the final chamber around the cavern. “..This particle is beyond our understanding as is how it’s harnessed exactly, but from what we can piece together it seems to be encasing not just this planet but as we’ve seen almost 10 light years in radius a gravitic anomaly. I would hazard it is akin to a warp bubble around our starships. Somehow it folds space along similar properties transporting this planet to its destination, effectively transferring the planet across space. The problem is that there is I think an unintended side effect from subspace we’re seeing, it’s possible this device not only can transplant the planet through space but also through time. How is certainly beyond me…” he said.

”..That said, it seems control of this power reaction is setup by that control panel before you, something lifted right out of our own engine room in fact I’d think, furthering the stories we’ve heard of outside influences possibly by Earth people. So I’d think if we look closer we could certainly devise how to turn this off or on or even adjust it for further uses if we wanted..” He finished.

Looking at the master control panel nearby NE Samuel did seem correct in their assumption of this panel being a ‘master switch’ for this whole contraption of Earth and Alien technologies. We the flip of a few switches and a pull of a lever or two they could easily devise how to shut this off. But what they could also see was that a tiny indescribable fraction amount of this power was also being siphoned off to a nearby facility in the opposite direction of from where they had entered. Samual’s words were technobabble that Naomi failed to keep up with. Engineering was never her area of interest and the less she needed to know, the better in her opinion. She didn’t trust herself to keep a starship running, let alone certain house hold items. Certain parts were simple enough that she raised her eyebrow, a mixture of horror and impressed at the combination. Part of her was grateful they hadn’t brought anyone extremely into Engineering or getting them out might have been an issue.

Once the man finished, she told him to shut it off while she observed the door. Moments ticked by until the man mentioned something about power being siphoned off causing her eyes to dart to his direction. She immediately pulled away and read the report, her eyes widening in shock.

Immediately she opened the communication lines to the ship.

=^= Locke here. We located the energy source and were in the process of shutting it down, but we discovered something. Some of it is being used to power some cryo capsules. Only 3 are active. Advice?=^=

She hoped her senior officers didn’t ask her to be a murder. While there was no proof these were human, she wouldn’t have put it past the people here to experiment on their own kind. The very thought made her shudder.
