With the aid of the bridge cameras they were able to pinpoint where Bane had come through. It was an area of about a square foot that was highlighted that was about chest high. They would have good benchmark readings which they could access from when the ship was put together and commissioned, and, later, during requisite scans for metal fatigue and such.

The scans did not show any weakening to the metal in that area, which was good. What did come up was:
- temperature scans showed a .015C increase in temperature from the area around it. Given residual timing and cooling, at the time of Bane’s passage it would have been around an increase in 18.4C.
- On an atomic structure level, atoms in that area were affected by a kind of coating of verteron radiation. It was weak but it was present.
- Lastly, atomic ‘positioning’ was not the same as in typical metallic scans prior. It was as though the atoms had been pushed aside and were only now moving and going back to their original places.

Frank shared his results with Locke and arched his eyebrows questioningly at her. “Well this is interesting for sure. I am not really certain how to interpret these results.” He slings the pizza box back over his shoulder by the strap and frowns, “Though I think the most important note is the structure having changed. Look at this, it is like the walls thinned, pushing the matter aside on an atomic level.”

IC: Locke blinded in surprise at Frank’s findings. It negated her theory some since phase changes didn’t cause temperature changes or thin out walls. She bit her bottom lip while she brought up any information about the radiation type that was used.

OOC: Checking to see if it’s known in this era yet or not.

The radiation was known, but not well studied. Basic information around it was known but nothing much related to use or application.

IC: “It reminds me of what ice does when it phase changes into liquid. The thing is, there’s not usually a temperature change during it so I doubt that’s it. Some type of radiation was used, but I’m not a full expert on that,” she admitted as she wanted for the information.

“Thankfully the wall appears to still be sound, but if we can learn to track the radiation then we can likely locate him whenever he is on the ship.”

With those words, Naomi decided to put a ship-wide scan for the radiation. She wanted to pinpoint areas where it existed, but shouldn’t and where large amounts were located. This might determine if the being was still onboard or limit their search.

For the levels, the on board internal sensors were inadequate for that. Short range specific scanners would be required. Fortunately the Bonnie wasn’t a massive ship - not like some science fiction tales of ships exceeding 50 decks and holding thousands of crew at a time.

Perhaps the most revelatory idea of what was happening was that Bane had moved between the space between the very atoms, pushing some aside but otherwise becoming ‘small enough’ in component to do this. And then reconstitute.

Naomi sighed. With all the advancement made in technology, she found herself annoyed it still had a limited range and clicked a series of commands into the computer. She uploaded what little information he could gain about the radiation into her archaic PADD before she powered down the computer. Lifting upright, she gestured to her companion to lead the way out.

“I’m afraid to say, you’re still going to have to scan that wall, Silva,” Noami began as she pressed the door, opening it, “ We need to inform the Chief about our findings. At least we have one possible way to track this man if he’s still on board, but it’s going to be a pain going through the whole ship.”
