IVs were soon found, thankfully the blood plasma was close enough to human like that it went on without a problem. Surgery continued for another hour until finally it seems he was in a mostly stable condition. His natural regenerative healing would likely see him in a better state far quicker then a normal human.

The girls meanwhile were asleep, recovering from the radiation treatments which had put them in a deep slumber for now. Food and Water IVs were also helping with the malnourishment they had undergone.

Isaac entered sick bay “ how are the girls doing” he asked the Doctor.

Rachel was just finishing cleaning up after the surgery, her red hair was a mess of curls flowing every which way. She blew a lock of hair out of her face and flashed the Armory Chief a crooked smile “The Bairns’ll be fine, got them on fluids to get some nourishment inta them, radiation sickness should be deal with. This one was more of a challenge” She pointed at the soldier “Biggest mess I’ve seen in a while”

Isaac smiled at her “I can see that the soldiers tore the egg head big one” he said. He felt bad he was there he could’ve save him a lot of pain.

Rachel inclined her head “It’s damage only primitive weapons can do properly, a phase pistol blast is a lot cleaner, incapacitated without unnecessary damage to the surrounding soft tissue.” She snorted “hrm, primitives’. Not that long ago us Humans had those kinds of weapons and he’s as close as I’ve seen in a while.

He then pulled three candy bars out of his pocket “Is it OK if I give these to the two little girls” he asked then he noticed that the two girls saw him come in and they had big smiles on their faces. They were happy to see him.

Given the girls state of recovery chocolate would probably be the worse thing for them right now given they were on IVs.

Rachel quickly grabbed the candy from the armoury chief and stuffed them into her lab pocket “Not even a little” She said in a light tone, her back faced the girls and she gave Isaac an impressive scowl “They are still recovering, once they get of fluids you can come back and give it to them” She tapped her pocket “Until then I’ll safeguard them” She smoothed her face and her crooked smile returned “You can speak with them if you wish but the lad is going to need a bit longer” She tapped the smaller man amicably on the shoulder.

Isaac smiled warmly to her “OK Ok you win doc by the way there are 3 bars there one is for you You haven’t had any food in a while and you still need to keep your strength up” he said as he turn to sit between the two girls. For some reason the girls trusted Isaac they both started to hold his hands he was setting between both of them to keep them company.

Rachel frowned at her coat pocket “I have an energy bar here somewhere, don’t like candy” She grumbled to herself, moving to give the trio some privacy.

Soon the 2 girls were asleep Isaac looked at them it appears that a lot of color has returned to their faces and they seem to be doing a whole lot better. He looked up at the CMO “ how long do you think they were on there own” he asked. Then he placed one of there bags under there bed when a small picture fell out. The picture was of the two girls there mother and father and a man who looks like him. After looking at the picture he said “ I think they see me as there brother”

Rachel looked up from her work, she was resupplying her medical bag “Don’t rightly know, could have been a few hours or days, perhaps longer. Don’t know if malnourishment and radiation sickness is a common problem amongst the general population” She said the statement with a sense of indifference as she packed. She eyed him curiously at his comment regarding their familial attachment to him “Perhaps they do, I haven’t spoken with them since we got them here”
