Searches for a light source soon found a breaker box near the elevator shaft. Flipping the hard switch lights slowly hummed to life and computer consoles began beeping and dinging with life. Green screens soon alighted the room.

With the lights on, Nissek could get a better look at the room and equipment. And… it wasn’t exactly cutting edge. She went up to one of the computers and looked at the screen. “I believe this would be similar to early Earth computers.” She said, looking back to Naomi.

“I agree. You hack into the system while I search for any physical documents. If I find nothing, I’ll pop onto the nearest computer. Sound like a plan?” Naomi suggested as she began to search around for any file cabinets or other places physical documents could be found.

“The sooner we learn about what’s keeping the ship here, the better.”

Nissek nodded, sitting in front of the computer nearest to her. The basics were easy enough to figure out, and then she tried to get into the system.

Information soon came up for Locke the systems were thankfully not encrypted.

Research at this base seemed to be imparted on the idea of FTL travel, but instead of a single ship they were looking at whole ideas for harnessing some alien technology deeper in the base that could be scaled up to transport the entire planet.

Nissek in turn finding this would come upon other information packets that showed numerous failure rates in simulations ranging from tectonic shaking to whole planetary destruction due to gravity waves.

Between them they could deduce that possibly if they could access this alien technology deeper in the base and figure out how to turn it off they would in turn, turn off the gravity anomalies keeping them trapped here. It seems the technology for planetary ‘warping’ worked in part from what they were seeing but had the nasty side effect of not having an ‘off switch effect’ to avoid the gravity pulses they now faced.

Naomi frowned when the information cropped up. Her right eyebrow rose up in surprise and she dove deeper, the information starting to piece itself together. This was not good in her opinion as she briefly summarized it for her fellow crewmate.

“‘So, I found something interesting. Thankfully it’s not encrypted. It appears they wanted to use the idea of FTL travel to transport a whole planet. They have some alien technology within the base, but I’m not finding much about the earth quakes. What about you?”
