[snip]At this the final pin seemed to drop for their shocked civilian. Confusion was clear across her face now and she unsteadily rose pointing a finger at El then the computer where the UT sat. “..Why are you ....you using that device to translate?” She demanded.
“Because we’re not from here and don’t want to be here but your war caught us up in it and whatever you are doing we need to figure out and stop or else we’ll not get home,” she snapped back. Then, the radio found something ..
Just as the woman said this El picked up a bit of radio traffic from down the street a quarter mile away. =/\= Squad Season to frontline HQ we’ve secured an officer prisoner. Seems like they are part of the egghead bureau. Requesting permission to grill the egg head here and now and dump his useless weight after unless he has priority 2 or higher intel? =/\= A male voice in the alien tongue said again translated a second later by their UT.

El forwarded this to the Captain. She was sure that she had heard it thanks to her patch but wanted to make sure.
“So, the newspapers and news related things we have seen, suggest they want to have a peaceful war, but the way they are actually treating each other, this war is harsh.” Lt. Sanks responded after watching the video.

“It is easy to get out of hand,” she said. “Was there some kind of shortage of materials? Strategic resources?” she mused to Roger.
- El, Eng
“If we assume that they are really old school, conventional weapons could mean ones that use bullets, that’s a possibility, they ran out of shells and resources to continue making them, if it’s early energy weapons, the batteries might not have been strong enough to keep the weapons powered.” Lt. Sanks proposed as an answer.
Lt. Sanks, Linguist
Based on what they had seen so far the local populace used a combination of energy and ballistic weapons to varying degrees. The war it seems based on the read outs they had seen and read also seemed to paint a picture of differing ideals clashing on too small a space for both to survive.

El frowned and glanced in the direction of the girl. She was sure that she must look edgy with the cowl of the hoodie up still but was she too sharp in her response to her that she hadn’t replied yet to El’s barb. Sighing she looked back at the screen while listening with half an ear to the chatter that had died down. She processed the ‘news’ and tried to quickly digest what she was seeing. “Running out of resources. Even if they were together it sounds like they’d have issues. They needed to expand and get out of the system. But fat chance now with all this devastation unless someone has an ace in the hole somewhere. Some secret experiments.” She shook her head. “I don’t know Roger. Even if they could get off world it seems they’d be stuck like us.” They so needed to find a way to get through this .. interference and get out of there. Could they help these people? A whole world of them reeling with this war? “They must have used some kind of tech from that ship that brought them here to do what they did.”
- El, Eng
OOC: Opps missed the barb jab!
The woman looked stunned, like a slap came across her face at El’s words. She seemed too stunned to reply for the moment....
Then she blinked again as if clearing her head, “..You are like the others! But yet not like the others, your dress is different, but the others they who came seeking parts and supplies for their own broken ship from the stars and heavens. Yous dress and accents are more like what history said of the Great Greyhound Saviors. The others more recent fought on a bridge near Bos’ton rescuing my mother and I from slaver bandits..” She said stunned.

Isaac was listening to them talk “what do you mean have you seen others like us before” he asked the woman.
Lt. Isaac Black (AC)
Rachel pursed her lips, a bridge near what sounded like Boston and Greyhound saviors, east coast North American words. Whatever was going on it was a true oddity.
