Just as Baumann was whisked away his last sight was of a pair of ESD soldiers entering the room he was in, they looked on in shock and surprise as he faded from view, soon rematerializing on the transporter pad of the Bonaventure.....safe, sound, and whole.

Baumann took a steadying breath and then looked at the transporter officer. “Did the rest of the away team come back? Or are they still on the planet?”

”..Both teams are still planetside sir. The XO’s group is among the treeline outside the base, I’m showing those alien choppers are leaving not seeming to have noticed them heading in a north easterly direction. The CO’s team is bunked down among a city shop. Scans are showing they got a group of the aliens about a quarter mile down wind from them but they don’t seem aware of that group either.” The NE said looking into the scanning visor on a nearby station.

”..Shall I alert the bridge to alert the landing parties of your safe return to the ship sir?” The NE asked.

“No. Beam me back down to XO’s location, fifty meters further in the woods from them.” he said after a moment’s consideration. He stepped back on the pad and nodded.
