Ari nodded and replied they were on their way. Arriving on the roof, she lowered herself as she saw the chaos brewing around her. Spotting NE Adams, she moved towards the MACO and shook her head. “This is ridiculous. How are we supposed to get information to get us out of here?” She was musing out loud, but it was a valid concern nonetheless. She hadn’t heard from the other team and it was still another hour till she would check in with them.

Once they arrived she passed the binoculars to them and pointed. “We might want to get out of here before they get here.”

2nd Lt Asam, MACO

The armoured carrier was another concern. Did they side with the group with more tech in hopes that they could better, and quicker, understand what had occurred and hopefully how to get home? Or side with the what she guessed was a Resistance in hopes they knew, and could not only get the Bonnie home, but gain the crew’s help in gaining an upper hand?

She knew they couldn’t just willy nilly insert themselves and their tech into this location and time. But they weren’t gonna get help eating food from vending machines and watching the world fall apart around them. She sighed and shook her head. “We need to speak to the other team and see if they discovered anything. No point in us ending up counter productive to one another. May need to find a suitable beam down spot and come back tomorrow after talking to the XO and Baumann.” She didn’t like the idea. But both sides needed to get together and discuss what they’d found. She just wasn’t sure the comms were the right way to go about doing it.

Another sigh and the Captain rolled onto her back and pulled out her communicator. She needed to tell the XO they had to discuss what they’d learned. She sent the single chirp ping and closed the device to await his reply. With luck, they were safe and the reply would come swiftly. “Isaac… any thoughts on this?” She glanced around absently having forgotten if he’d joined her or not.

As the CO would watch the APC opened up again with a withering line of rapid fired projectiles, breaking down the meager cover of the ESD Northern forces. The squad there was soon killed outright or captured and injured by the MacArm forces escorting the APC. As she would watch she would see the southern MacArm soldiers brutally headshot three of the four survivors. The last one alive seemed to be an officer of some sort.

During this exchange the APC moved on further down the road soon rolling out of sight to leave the MacArm soldiers to clean up the ESD officer and likely interrogate him. If the CO wanted to rescue the man the window of opportunity to do so was closing fast, the six MacArm soldiers had their backs to the landing party and while distant were easy to snipe from here with their phase pistols or a MACO phase rifle. If they acted quick they could likely take down the soldiers before they could get to cover or return fire/call for help.....maybe.

Ari growled. They needed intel and they needed it fast. While the overpowering force was probably the cause of their being stranded, she wondered a moment if the weaker force would know what was happening and be more willing to help. With no time to choose, she shook her head and bit her lip before addressing the Marine beside her. “How good is your shooting. We need that man alive.” She had pulled her own weapon out and was already aiming. With luck, she could get two, maybe three on her own. Where was Black?! She needed him up here this second. Glancing back, she hoped to see him right behind her.

A transmission came up to the Captain from El. [o] Captain, I’m linking you in to the comms frequency from the helmet to maybe hear some chatter. [c] A moment later a crackle in the line indicated El had initiated the comms link.

Another growl rumbled low in her throat as she heard the comm. [O]Copy that,[O] she responded and lent half an ear to the comm as she glanced for Black.

While seconds ticked by the ESD officer got hauled to his feet roughly by one of the MacArm soldiers while another began patting the male officer down probably doing a search for hidden items, weapons or valuables.
