The door had a heavy latch on it, as well as a thick mechanical padlock. Phasing open the padlock would be easy enough if he wanted, same with cutting through the latch on the door. Perhaps before he did so it might be wise to try scanning the interior with his hand scanner for anything that seemed explosive?
