With the two groups now back together they were free to compare notes and do what they could to check on their new patient.

Further jacking into the comm array would take a little more work, while the plug jack was strangely the same, the base code line would need to be analyzed first to get root access to the information. In short they’d need to hack the encrypted comm array platform.

Naomi frowned when she realized the coding was encrypted. A small sigh escaped her lips as she continued to collect samples to analyze for progression. She was no engineer so decoding this would take much longer than she wanted to spend. Before she could relay the unfortunate update, her ears caught Baumann’s explanation.

“In simple terms, their development should be more fluid than it is and more like ours with a few differences. Instead, it feels like it made leaps and bounds without evidence of any sudden discovery to explain it. At least anything we know of.” She paused to pat the black box gently.

“This for example. With how old and primitive the aircraft looked, this shouldn’t be able to interface with my scanner. However, it does. Also, I have unfortunate news: it’s encrypted.” She paused to catch her breath and check on the progress made. Not much to her annoyance.

“So it’s going to take me a while to even get close to decoding what happened. Unless someone else wants to give it a crack?” Her hand raised the scanner to offer it to anyone who felt confident enough to try. Otherwise, she would continue to work and detangle the strange code into something easier to translate.

Baumann set his pack down and pulled out a small black device that looked like a modified scanner of some type. “Here, let me see if I can help.”and he connected the device to the Intel scanner. Hopefully it’s decryption algorithms would be sufficient.

A beep heralded that the intel scanner was processing.....

While Noami waited on an answer, her attention turned to the other two and their patient. “How did you two fair?”

Atozi looked down at the pilot, “Were well, better than this humanoid at least his ability to repair soft tissue damage is extraordinary I expect he’d be conscious soon so I may need a hand explaining thing to him because.. well I’m not exactly the sight for someone who never seen an Andorian before” He chuckled her little blue antennae flicking back and fort. She’d removed the hood once they returned to the woods.

“Did I overhear that their technology is a little problematic? Could it be that they have somehow had contact with a spare fairing civilization or at least some form of outside help in their technology advancements? One thing we learned when Andorians first set out was that species often tried reverse engineering our technology often crating a mix match of modern and what we would consider ancient tech.”

Another beep showed the intel scanner was still processing....

“It looks like that may be the case… although here it would be a safe assumption based on the way the technology has been ‘improved’ that the off-world visitors they encountered may have been human.”

Baumann, Intel

Finally after ten long minutes a double beep sounded that the intel scanner had finished its work decrypting the root access to the comm array micro-database logs of the jet’s last mission, as well as access if properly powered further for using the comm array for listening to or speaking to military frequencies.

Baumann nodded in satisfaction and then looked up. “Now we need a power source and we should be able to listen in on what is happening.”

Baumann, Intel

Atozi looked to her medical scanner pack and then back to Baumann “Will this work? I can diagnose without it” Though having the scanner was handy she could always revert back to the most basic of diagnostic tools, her eyes.

“One scanner probably won’t be enough, but if we wire several of them together,” Jonathan said as he took the offered scanner. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out his own scanner and started breaking it down to get to the power cell. “Let’s see if three power cells will be enough to get a good signal. Who else is willing to give up their scanner for now?”

Cmdr. McKnight - XO

Naomi passed off the scanner to Baumann, letting the man take the lead. It saved her the headache as the infernal beeping came in waves. She had taken a seat, her legs folded up against her figure and comfortable. The point about technology being influenced by outside sources was the obvious choice and the most likely culprit. However, she kept her mind open to other possibilities. Even if they were less likely.

“I think mine’s pretty much surrendered.” Naomi joked at the XO’s request, her lips curled into a smirk.

“How many do we have in total? It might be a good idea to keep one scanner for emergency purposes. Especially if someone gets hurt. Internal injuries are harder to detect and considering the conflict, I say we have a possibility of getting hurt here.” She didn’t mention the fact she had a rough patch with head trauma. Nothing that would dismiss her from the program, but something to best avoid damaging more.

Kenneth held onto his scanner. “I’ll hold onto mine, I guess. Don’t want any internal injuries to cause issues, I agree.”

Fleet, Helm

“Let’s start with these three,” he said taking Naomi’s scanner. He popped open the back, tucking it in his pocket, and pulled out the power cell.

Hooking the power cells in series, he popped open the engineering kit with one hand and pulled out some connector cables. It only took a few seconds to attach the power cells into the comm array.

“Hopefully this will work,” Jonathan said crossing his fingers as he hit the power switch.
