Finding the comm array by a hand scanner was an easy process. Interestingly as Naomi got nearer to the remains she could see it was quite close in design to the comm arrays used on the Bonaventure and other Earth ships! It was a bit bigger and bulkier but it showed a lot of signs of being quite the same. Disconnecting it as a result would be easy now that she knew and saw this. Though it was quite warm from the crash of the jet salvage and repairs should be possible.

Make up though of much of the jet were advanced titanium polymers and structural components. Quite well made actually for a society that seemed barely out of what would be the stylings of Earth’s 1940s-60s. The tech they had seen was an odd mix of the familiar, the advanced and the primitive. Quite a mystery they were developing.

Once he had finished, he moved closer to Naomi. “Anything of note? We shouldn’t remain exposed too long.”

Baumann, Intel

Noami sighed as she walked about the debris, her boots careful not to step on anything hot. The last thing she wanted was to melt the soles of her boots or slice her clothes up. Like the earth game of hot or cold, her scanner guided her toward the black box. She caught a bright orange to her right and she turned to dig it out. The surface was a little warmer than she wanted it to be. A sign of it overheating and possible further damage, but she couldn’t tell until she got it out. They could still likely make repairs if needed.

At Baumann’s words, she looked up from her findings.

“Yeah, I found the craft’s version of a comm array. It’s similar to our design but bigger and bulkier. A lot of the craft is advanced titanium polymers and structural components. The materials and design… don’t quite fit well with me. Like two different eras mixed together.”

She bent down and shoved her hands underneath the heavy thing. With a heavy grunt, she tried to lift it and immediately regretted it. It plopped back down leaving her to grit her teeth against the muscles strain. “If you’re worried we might be spotted, you can help me moved it somewhere else. This thing is really heavy. Once we move it, we can connect it to a scanner.” Noami noted, her thoughts tried to recall everyone in their group.

Jonathan came jogging over to where Baumann and Naomi were looking over the fighter craft. “Find anything good so far?”

Cmdr. McKnight - XO

Baumann moved to Naomi and helped her get the comm array off the ground. He thrust his chin in the dircetion of their hiding spot. “Yes. black box and communications array. Help us get this back into hiding.”

As they moved, Baumann looked at Naomi and said “I agree with you, by the way… something isn’t right here.”

“Sure thing, let’s head back to the woods,” Jonathan said as he helped grabbed hold of the comm array.

Moving back the way they had come to the woods nearby they could see the other part of their team moving with the pilot on a stretcher.

OOC: I assume you’re all moving back to the wood’s edge?

Once the shade of the wood’s edge hit her back and drenched her in fresh darkness, Naomi lowered the box down. They appeared well hidden for now. If it wasn’t for the two guy’s help, she would’ve still been dragging it along. As she released her grip, she straightened up and cringed at the soreness stretched across her muscles. The young officer bit back a moan at her less than ideal physical condition.

“I think I need to increase my workout routine.” She muttered more to herself than the others.

“Now… Time to figure out what’s going on here.” Naomi leaned down and pulled a connector from her device. She hooked it into the machine to let it read the information and basic scan for information.

Setting down his end, Jonathan took a deep breath. “So fill me in, what doesn’t feel right?”

Cmdr. McKnight - XO

Baumann set the flight recorder next to Locke and then looked at the XO. “There is something wrong here. Their technology is at once primitive and far too advanced. It is an odd amalgamation of materials, manufacturing, and even scientific and engineering principles… some of which they simply should not have based on their overall advancement. Something has happened to give them a head start on some things… but not others. And I am now wondering if the conflict we are in is a result of that.”
