Scans for mines and other explosives turned up empty in result. No obvious sign of such was in their scanners. Equally negative were signs of life within their scanner range of a half a mile, either on the surface or below ground. However, the large energy source that had brought them here which was even deeper was blocking scans below ground past 100ft. Again no recognition of the type of the power being given was in record though its output was massive clearly. Well off the charts of readability.

During this long period of waiting another pair of jet’s flew by, but this time they engaged another opposite jet coming from the other direction. Instead of missiles thin orange-red plasma bolts of energy rapidly shot out of the nose cones. Scans showed they were not too far off being on par with well conditioned plasma throwers that an Earth cargo ship would use for mining or self defense. They also as they watched the dog fighting above of the two planes weaving and working to kill the third plane could tell on scans the jets were powered not by fossil fuel but fusion charged batteries! After a few brief missed shots, the third plane was hit not too far above them causing the wreckage to crash somewhere a mile or two off to their north. Victory won the two jet’s circled the crash site then proceeded back on a easterly course for parts unknown. But one thing also picked up was that it seems the third pilot had ejected safely in part, and was currently on a drifting course which would bring them down not too far from the wide open field they were not hunkered down on the edge of as night began to settle in.

Atozi had watched the dogfight in awe, she never really saw this style of fighting. Ship to ship battles were usually a battle of who could hit harder but the pilots of those ‘planes’ as they were described to her must have been skilled or very lucky. She watched as the third plane had amassed into a fiery ball of destruction when shortly after the jets left something bloomed in the sky. Picking up her tricorder she scanned. “A LIFE SIGN!” She said a little to loud and covered her mouth, “Sir he may be injured and I can not in good conscious not help him, her.. them?” She hoped she’d be granted permission, “And maybe in return for medical assistance they will give us information?” She added giving her proposal a bit of honey to make it sweeter.

  • Ens. Atozi Sh’Qyrin

Baumann looked at the XO and said “I think Ms. Sh’Qyrin is correct. Injured or not, they are potentially a good source of information as to what we are standing in the middle of.”

Baumann, Intel

Atozi nodded thanking for the support, “But if he or they are injured then that comes first.” She couldn’t allow the questioning of the person without knowing they were ol first which led her to remembering the Hippocratic Oath she took, “To treat the ill to the best of one’s ability, to preserve a patient’s privacy, to teach the secrets of medicine to the next generation…” she recited in her head while she acted for the green light.

It didn’t take Jonathan long to decide, of course they were right, it was a chance to get some information. Not to mention that the survivor probably was probably shot down by the same people who had set up this base in the first place. So whoever it was, would hopefully be more likely to give them some information.

Looking back at the Ensign, Jonathan wondered how in the world they were going to explain her appearance though. When they had beamed down, they had not been expecting to encounter any of the locals.

“Agreed. Though Atozi, you will need to stay back as the rest of us approach.” He held up a hand to cut off the objection he knew was coming. “We did not expect to encounter locals when we beamed down, and well, you stand out from the rest of us. We do not know if these people have ever met people from another planet, and your appearance may cause a hostile reaction. Whoever it is will already be paranoid, landing in potential enemy territory. We need to do this one carefully. Understood?”

Cmdr. McKnight - XO

“Understood Commander but if he’s injured and required medical attention I will have to help them.” She explained, “I can cover my Antennae and explain away the blue skin with a heavily laid dermatology excuse.” She added if it come to it, she hated hiding who she was but sometimes needs must and these could be one of those time. She nodded to affirm she was ready to go.

Baumann reached into his pack and pulled out a billowy cloak with hood and a dark mesh face mask used to conceal ones person during surveillance. “Here, this is available if you would like.”

Baumann, Intel

“Thankyou” Atozi took the cloak and pulled it over her shoulders, she put the hood up and allowed the mesh to fall over her face, it slightly obscured her view but it did the job of cancelling her antenna and blue skin. The only thing now wa sher hands, but she’d cross that bridge when it came to it. She pulled the good back down for now, she may not even need it but she was grateful for it none the less.

Naomi glanced at the XO’s insistence to drop the rankings. Truth be told, she had no issue with it. She returned her attention to the scanner. She spoke out loud as she revealed the data given to her.

“Negative on mines and explosives, also no life signs. The large energy source is past 100 feet below the surface. Still, no clear indication of its origins or make up.”

At Atozi Sh’Qyrin’s shout, Naomi jumped, and her eyes shot to the jets flying over. She watched the firefight break out as the loser crashed into the ground. She sighed, her nervousness farther rattled than earlier. Of course, the earlier issue was forgotten when someone needed medical attention.

“It’s times like this, I wish I brought my makeup kit,” Naomi muttered underneath her breath. It might’ve at least helped with warming the skin color.

She noticed the medical officer look at her blue hands. Without missing a step, Naomi reached into her back pocket and pulled out a set of gloves. Prepared to pick something dangerous up, she had taken them with her. Now they had a use.

“Hey, sorry for being distracted earlier. These might help.” She offered the gloves.

–ENS Naomi D. Locke, Sci

Atozi’s gentle blue hands took the gloves and she slowly covered her hands, “Thankyou for these and while I don’t mind covering my face nobody Is applying that stuff humans seem so content on throwing on thier faces, besides you don’t need make up anyway!” She clenched and unbleached her fists before smiling with approval. “Thanks again.”

  • Ens Atozi Sh’qyrin

“I know it’s not ideal Atozi, but I do appreciate the effort.”

Jonathan looked around at the group. “Stick close together, and let’s go find the pilot,” he said hefting his gear and heading in the director of the crashed fighter.

OOC: I’ll assume you all are moving forward here shortly to the pilot.

The trek around the large open field, took a good 15 minutes, at a brisk walk/jog. Even keeping to cover by the brush they made good time. Ahead a bit of smoke rose from the crashed remains of the jet low level radiation spikes picked up from the destroyed batteries inside, about 100ft off buried by the thick parachute the pilot of the craft lay unconscious.

Thier tricorders chirped to notify them of the increased radiation, Atozi took out here trixorder and began scanning the area of the crash where the smoke and radiation was originating from. The gloves on her hand made he a little clumsily than usual as she fiddled with the tricorder.

Scans of the figure hidden by the sheet showed they were likely male. They bore a strong resemblance to humans, but their musculature was about 1.5 times as strong, and their ability to heal up was probably similarly greater than a humans. Otherwise they were physically the same as a human. Their current medical status showed bruises, a broken left leg, some low level burns, and probably some kind of concussion.

GM CockRoach

“Sir the pilot resembles humans and is injured I’m reading that he has sustained atleast a broken Tibia in his left leg, with the fall he sustained I suspect he is suffering from concussion aswell as burns from the fires.” She didn’t say what she wanted to but the Andorian knew the executive officer would know what she wanted to do, help. In preparation she pulled the hood of the cloak shed been given over her head and hiding her face. It wasn’t ideal but she’d have to work with it the last thing she’d want to do is send her patient into shock.

Fleet stepped up next to Atozi. “Anything I can do to help, Atozi?” he asked in a low voice, glancing at the Medical officer. “I have a little field medical training.” He glanced back at McKnight. “John, we should help him, right?”

Fleet, Helm

“Triage and see if he is conscious,” Jonathan said nodding at Atozi and Fleet. “Baumann, take Jay and Naomi and check out what is left of the fighter. See if we can learn anything about it. And see what you can do to dampen the smoke so it doesn’t keep calling attention to us.”

The commander might not have seen it with the low light and her face be covered but she smiled gratefully at him before shutting the tricorder and readying herself to leave with the others. The others could deal with the smoke her priority was her patient.

Setting his gear down, Jonathan pulled out his own scanner and started another scan of the area, hopefully the downed fighter wasn’t attracting too much attention yet.

Cmdr. McKnight - XO

Baumann nodded once to the XO and then looked at his two partners. “Shall we?” and he began moving carefully towards the wreckage.

“If we can isolate the flight data recorder, if there is one, it would tell us a great deal. Or perhaps some of the crafts communication array.” he said quietly as they approached the downed jet.

Baumann, Intel

Atozi moved off with the group in the direction for the smokes. “I will let you worry about gaining intelligence but my priority is making sure they are ok, then we can ask questions and mess around with flight data recorders” She wasn’t the ranking officer but when it came to the health and well being of the crew or even just a random patient she had the jurisdiction or so that’s what they were told, sometimes it just didn’t got that way.

  • Ensign Atozi Sh’qyrin

Since Atozi’s covered hands prevented her from accurately feeling a pulse or anything like that, Kenneth rolled up his sleeves. “Alright, what should we do? He seems to have some broken bones, and that nasty gash on his head.”

Fleet, Helm
