Rachel indicated to any of the three Examination beds all of which were unoccupied “You know I don’t think I’ve had these many people in my Sickbay for a long time now.” She looked at the now-injured scientist and the Vulcan next to him and smiled absentmindedly.Dr.Grey - CMO
Frank seemed to be becoming increasingly less interested in socializing with the brash Dr. Grey, but as Locke was more or less in charge the older man continued to wait to receive instructions, occasionally fiddling with something on his jumpsuit.

Naomi sighed, accepting the nearest one. She plopped herself onto the soft, gel-like surface while she waited. Minutes seemed to slip into hours thanks to her boredom. After a bit, she turned to Silva and asked, “Why do you think someone would want the chemical, you suppose?”
Though the question was directed at him, she had said loud enough for anyone nearby to hear.

“I couldn’t tell you, Ma’am,” Silva reports to Locke as he thinks about it some, “I mean there are a few medical and scientific applications, mostly as a precursor to fluoride based compounds, but it is also a contact poison. Unless the crew is freebasing antidepressants then I would assume the use is mostly for a contact poison.” He shrugs looking up, “But perhaps our work here is done, Ma’am? To be honest I do not relish just standing around. Chemistry is hardly my specialty. “

“When I find out who did it, it’s going to be hard not to bloody strangle them,” she admitted, then pointed out
“You do realize they will want to confirm our stories right? That means some lengthy interrogating. They need to know our alibis match up or we’re going to be held on suspicion.”
Her eyes caught movement as a young, slender NE from armory entered the sickbay. His eyes snapped across the patients until he found the CMO. He stepped forward and began to jerk to attention. “JO Smith, Ma’am, you sent for an Armory officer?”

Rachel smiled at the Armory officer “Yes, It seems we’ve had some trouble in the science lab. Someone seems to have misplaced some hydrochloric acid. The pair of industrious Scientists here came to ask if someone had reported chemical burns. No one had but this young man” She indicated the burn victim “arrived with chemical burns that we traced to his PaDD. It appears that someone laced the device with the chemical and we need to figure out who, as part of armoury training I do believe you are taught some investigative skills” The tall Scotswoman said smiling “This is a restricted chemical that must be tracked down. Ensign Locke Mr Silva can fill you in on the rest.” She crossed her arms and continued her crooked smile.

Stovik noted the arrival of the security officer but continued his duties, though he did shamelessly eavesdrop. Hard for him not to with his Vulcan hearing. He hoped the contaminant would be found before another crew member was injured.

OOC: Depending on if there’s a spare room the NPC can use or not, we might need to change the Thread’s title and moving to the Armory.

IC: The man nodded. He seemed completely calm as he listened, his head turned to each individual mentioned in the CMO’s explanation. His tongue slipped into his cheek and absorbed the information for a moment.
“Yes ma’am, we are. I’ll notify the Chief and conduct a search into all those who had access to the chemical. Is the victim able to move? I’ll need to question each of them individually during the investigation.”
Naomi resisted shooting her senior officer a glare. It was almost as if the woman was needling her, without actually doing it obviously and it took serious restraint from reacting to it. Casually the JO Science officer hopped off the biobed onto the floor and waited for the man to suggest they all leave the sickbay for wherever the Armory interrogated the suspects.

“He’s well enough to move so I’d recommend moving everyone to the Armory if you wish to speak to them there. Ensign Locke has a list of all those that had access to the Chemicals. Rachel sat back down on one of the beds “You can most assuredly rule out Berkley and Loiner there” She indicated Silva and Locke “And although Burnie did act suspiciously I think it’s just ‘cuz he’s a little dense” She smiled at the Armory officer as she fiddled with her hair.

Silva thinks a moment and looks over the culprits before commenting to Locke, “The doctor isn’t wrong. The Armory is better equipped to handle thieves from there.” He gives a glare to the patients then back to Locke. “At least that is my assessment.”
