Taking the lead, he stepped onto the transporter. As everyone took their places, he turned to the transporter chief.

“Let’s do this. Energize.”

Baumann took a breath and slowly exhaled, shifting himself so that he was prepared should their transport place them on uneven terrain.

Once the rest of the team got onto the pads the NE chief began transport. Eventually everyone on team 2 was planetside finding themselves in a brushy clearing about 200 yards from the seemingly abandoned military base.

Unlike team 1 with their noise of the town, the area team 2 was in was relatively quiet and peaceful. Rumbles were felt in the ground from some kind of source but they were likely distant impacts far out of full hearing range.

Kenneth looked around, surveying the area. He pulled out a pair of sunglasses from his pocket and began to quietly survey the area.

Fleet, Helm

Bohannon said, “Well, if we are going to have walk along ways, I will need help carrying my equipment.”

At least they were not being chased, shot at, or anything else. It might be a quiet mission.

Bohannon, CE

“Pass some my way. And remember keep our equipment hidden as much as possible, and for goodness sake, don’t leave anything behind.”

Jonathan felt the rumbling in the ground and wondered if they were feeling the impacts from the missiles they had seen in orbit.

“Alright, Commander,” he said looking over at Baumann. “Why don’t you take the lead. Let’s go find out what they are hiding out at this base.”

A moment later, Ari’s voice came across the XO’s communicator. [O]Ari to Jonathan… everyone safe? [O] She felt odd using first names. But with not knowing who could potentially be listening, she thought it better than last names and especially ranks.
