Ari had finished her conversation with Baumann and was entering the shuttle bay when she decided, he was right. Transporters would be less conspicuous and faster. She just hoped with the distance and interference, they weren’t gonna suffer losses to the damned tech.

She stood just inside the shuttle bay with a small bag on her back. She had some water and a packet of rations. Enough to feed five people for two days if necessary. She also had her scanner and her comm link. A phaser was on her hip just under her untucked shirt and she had her hair down and loose to help hide her face if necessary. Standing at the small console just inside the door, she went over a few ship issues and left some quick notes for McKnight in case they didn’t come back in the few hours they were giving themselves. Or, worse case scenario, if they didn’t come back at all. Protocols were in place for such things, but small suggestions and notes weren’t gonna hurt and it kept her busy instead of thinking of Wulf going to the military installation without her. She knew duty came first, for them both, but sometimes it still stung.

She was absently humming one of his favorite tunes as the others arrived.
